Fairview Inn & Suites Mobile

I have worked in the hotel industry before, and do not blame the overnight staff for lounging with their feet up in the guest area seating playing video games on their phones. I checked in around 9 pm after reserving a room one month prior to my two night stay (nonsmoking). I noticed on the camera wall the washer and dryer looked to possibly be sitting in standstill water, and was my first real red flag. I kept my belongings in my vehicle while I walked in the room to do a simple inspection (as I do when staying in any place outside of home). When I walked in, the room air was sticky and damp, and smelled strongly of chemicals. The floor was sticky and waxy under my shoes. I understand the south, and Mobile, AL is a very humid environment, so I was not extremely alarmed by the air quality conditions of the room. The real problems came from the bed (non smoking room). The comforter was old, scratchy, and had many burned cigarette holes. The pillow cases had the previous guest’s hair & some burn holes as well, but even cigarette holes in a non smoking room are not enough for me to cancel my two night stay. I pulled back the comforter to reveal the sheets, which had their own burn holes, but also saw more hair around the midsection (pubic hair), leg hair at the lower section, and crumbs and dirt scattered in various places on the sheets. This was my major red flag. I inspected around the corners of the mattress, which was old, sitting on an old metal bed frame, and had years of built up filth underneath. I inspected the couch, which had major stains in all areas and was sticky from the coastal air and whatever chemical they bombed the room with. I tried to give the room every benefit of doubt I could give, because I’m not a typical complainer, but this room was egregiously bad for standards of sanitary and health requirements for guests.

The toilet was not mounted to the floor. Safety bar in the shower was disconnected.

I always come here when I’m in town the location is good the places is quiet clean the staff are friendly and helpful the price is probably the best you gonna get around here too.

Room was exremely dirty- stained sheets, hair wads on floor, hair in bath tub, dirt in all 3 beds (under the cover). Stains on floor and sticky spill on the chair. Cigarette burns on top sheet, although room was non-smoking. Positives- room smelled clean and AC worked.

The hotel has been rennovated, it is comfortable, good location. However, the sheets on all beds were dirty. We requested new ones, they also had staiins, lookes very bad. If only, this property would invest in new sheets, pillows ansld laundry machines, ir would be 4 or 5 stars.

The rooms are spacious, but there were not finished.
