Homewood Suites by Hilton Phoenix-Biltmore

This hotel is conveniently located and the rooms/suites are spacious and clean. The hotel is in dire need of an upgrade, however. The furniture is scratched and even the bathtub faucet and shower were not working well. There were no plates, cups, silverware or cooking utensils in the cupboards -- although a few items could be found in the dishwasher. Do not plan to cook anything in the kitchen. Our biggest complaint, however, was the size of the area where breakfast is served (very cramped for such a large hotel) and the quality of the breakfast. There was no fresh fruit except for bananas and the cream cheese and jams were served in a set of communal bowls/jars - which is not terribly hygienic. There were no pastries, few bread choices, and not much in the way of a yogurt selection. We have stayed in Homewood Suites across the country and I would say that this one's breakfast offerings are subpar. Also, my daughter said that the gym facilities were very small and that there were no free weights. We are Diamond members and were not even offered free water upon arrival. Details matter and for these prices we expected more.

Dirty, very dated. Stale old

Clearly this is an older property. The room had this weird odor in it. Even though there was no smoking anywhere, it still smelled of smoke. The beds were extremely uncomfortable. The staff were very friendly, but overall, it was not as nice as other hotels that I have stayed at.
