Palacio del Virrey Laserna

De locatie van het Palacio midden in het centrum is geweldig. De optocht van de Semane Santa kwam langs de voor deur. De tuin en het zwembad zijn mooi, wel wat rommelig met versleten stoelen.

Het Palacio behoeft nodig onderhoud en toont verwaarloost. Zó jammer. Onze kamer was piepklein, zeer ongemakkelijk.

De gehele sfeer van het paleis. Het is echt een beleving met een enthousiaste, attente eigenaar die ook een leuke rondleiding verzorgt tegen een gereduceerde prijs van € 5 p.p. Verwacht geen hoogstaande luxe, je slaapt in een oud paleis wat ook een museum is.

The deluxe rooms were charming, furnished with antique furniture and paintings, and overlooking the garden. Hence they were quiet and peaceful, you wake to the sound of birds. The mattress was comfortable and the bed sheets were good quality - we slept very well. The bathroom was spacious with a huge claw foot bath, with shower attachment over it. The coffee machine and edible goodies were most appreciated. Lovely to be able to access the garden - the courtyard area looked like a pretty place to relax in if the weather had been better. Alvaro's tour of the main part of the palazzo was really interesting, and he was very communicative and helpful with recommendations.

The upkeep of the palacio must be an up-hill struggle, and this is evident in certain areas, including the garden furniture which needs attention - perhaps it's already on the to-do list! The weather wasn't great during our stay so it would have been nice to have had a communal indoor area to relax in (instead of having to be in our rooms) - however I understand that this isn't an easy fix in an old building. Of course, in the warmer months the garden would provide this communal space. Lack of a television in the room wasn't a problem for us, but might be for some. I think a small fridge in the room would be a good idea, especially so in the warmer months. Finally, whilst the room was clean, the picture frames and window shutters were dusty. In summary, this property is not for those who require the comfort and facilities of a modern hotel. Instead it's for those seeking something a little more unique, with all the pros and cons that come with a historic palazzo that has been in the same family for 500 years. Quirky but charming.

We were offered an upgrade to a superior room which we gladly accept. However on closer inspection the room was very.dusty, the tiles in bathroom not cleaned but worst of all was the green scum in the coffee machine. Everything needs a deep clean

Is gewoon een hele aparte belevenis om in het palacio te overnachten.

Je heb weinig comfort om te zitten op je kamer.

One suggestion I would make is to swap the coffee machine for a hot water kettle so that guests can make themselves both coffee and tea

La ubicación genial, al lado de la Alcazaba.

Hay que subir escaleras para ir a las habitaciones y con el equipaje es bastante pesado.
