Een leuk kleinschalig eco resort direct aan het strand. De eigenaresse doet er alles aan om het naar je zin te maken. We vroegen om local eten en het was heerlijk! Maakten voor ons speciaal een kampvuur aan het strand ‘s avonds.

El paisaje sin igual. La ciénaga pegada al mar y una playa de arena suave enorme. Poder nadar en el mar de olas juguetonas. Vivir la naturaleza dentro de un lugar cómodo y confortable. La comida deliciosa con la sazón costeña plena de sabores naturales y frescos. La amabilidad de las personas que nos atendieron. La cama cómoda, duchas agradables.

before booking the property (several months betore arrival) there was no info that it is impossible to reach by car (only 4x4 truck or boat, and guests must pay for that aditionaly). Several weeks before coming we found out about it, and wanted to cancel the booking, but the property refused to return the money, because thay have 2 months strickt policy (no refund 2 months before arrival) It is said, that You can leave the car near by - a lie, you have to leave it somewhere in the town and also we were forced to pay for that, even it was written, that parking is free. We asked several time before coming, if the place is good for babys. They have assured us that yes. but in reality - it is not good for babys. There were so many mosquitoes, that even spray didn’t help. My son got bitten pretty badly. We've got to a place in the dark and there was almost no light, the territory was lighted with candles, the chalet - with candels and chargeble lamp. Ir was pritty dark. There was no info about it also before booking. We stayed one night, and left the property. They refused to return us the money for other 4 nights.

We had a wonderful stay at Awatawaa! The Caribbean water is perfect for swimming. The resort and beach are clean and secluded. If you're looking for partying and night clubs, this is not your scene. If you love nature, birds, relaxation, swimming in a calm seas, extremely friendly helpful staff, this is the place. We will be back again! Rooms: This is an eco-lodge. Not air conditioned. Temps are moderate as it is ocean-front. The bungalows are comfortable airy and with mosquito netting around each bed and private bathrooms with each room. Noteworthy details: The owners and staff are awesome hosts, and are committed to environmental responsibility and sustainability. They will bend over backwards to make your stay special.

You can not drive directly to the lodge without 4 wheel drive and some skill crossing mud. They will pick you up in the nearby town La Punta de los Remedios and get you to the lodge (about 2 km). This was not a problem for us as we had a taxi to the town from Santa Marta which Paula booked for us. Bring Mosquito repellant.

It was so great! We really liked the isolated location directly at the beach, all the animals, the really good food they cooked for us, the huts which are designed with love and the complete atmosphere here

You should be aware that the road to the hotel is not in best condition - you need to take a boat, a jeep or motorcycles - for us no problem but it might be for other persons

Excellent! it felt like our own private island, once in a life time experience , if you’re thinking about going dure there COVID don’t hesitate as you’ll most likely be the only guest there. Sleeping with waves in the background , waking up with tropical birds chirping, watching the sun set and the sky turn pink... combined with 3 meals a day from an amazing chef cooking with so much love and joy. be aware that during the rainy period you need to get there by boat which also adds to the whole “remote” experience” staff is great and very helpful!

It is a piece of paradise on earth. Eliana and Oscar are perfect hosts. Can’t wait to be back.
