"Authentic Cambodian Experience"

10.0

The host treated us like family and went out of his way to make everything perfect. If you want the real Cambodian experience you will not get it at a hotel but Sok Phen Homestay was the real deal. Everything will be taken care of from airport pickup to daily trips to the temples. It is also nice to support a local family by giving them business instead of a foreign corporation that owns the hotels.

"Excellent—highly recommend!"

10.0

Sok Phen was so welcoming of us into his family and home. His wife made dinner for us every night and he always provided anything we needed. the house itself was very historical as it was used as an outpost for the Khmer Rouge.

It was a bit far but Sok Phen arraigned a private tuk tuk driver for us for our whole stay which was so incredibly convenient.

"Great traditional stay close to Angkor Wat"

10.0

1 week in Nov 2022: the place is run by a lovely family (2kids) and the owner, Mr. Sokphen takes care of everything. He is a great help with advice and organizes your daytrips. We had a kind and nice driver (Mr. La), who has a traditionell TukTuk which is quite cheap. It is very slow, but thus you see and smell the surroundings very well. We went with him even the 12km to Phnom Krom for sunset and it was no problem for us, for him or the TukTuk. He waited patiently for hours until we came back from a sight. The place is close to Ankor Wat. The accomodation is basic, but you have a spacious room, warm shower, sitting toilet, no insects, all clean, air con and fan, get dinner and bear if you wish for a little money. Bedclothes and towels changed every few days (once a week, when we were there). It's an original Khmer house on stilts. The owner is engaged in the village to organize english lessons for kids etc., so very sympathetic and nice. Don't expect a luxury hotel room.

Nothing, ... but you should accept, it is not a luxury hotel room.

"Family of 4"

10.0

We loved this place as soon as we arrived. Such a great price for a real experience of Cambodia. Picked up from the hotel by Lucky, who took us to the homestay in his Tuk Tuk, based in a village about 20 mins away. It's all arranged by the owner Sok Phen, which made everything so easy. Lucky also took us to Angor Wat the next day and was happy to take us anywhere at a reasonable price. The owner is a lovely man who gave us fresh coffee and cold drinks and cooked us local dishes for dinner and breakfast. There are paintings by locals as they hold lessons for children in the garden. The room was a large stilted bungalow with 3 huge double beds. To chill in the sounds of the local village for a couple of nights was amazing.

There is nothing not to enjoy, it is a homestay experience.

Sok Phen is a fantastic host. Helped organise our activities and tuktuk driver. His lovely wife cooked a beautiful traditional Cambodian dinner on our first night. The house is amazing, big beds comfortable, well decorated and surprisingly cool. Perfect if you are looking for something different!
