Elk Creek Resort

Great location, bathrooms renovated, plugs need to be upgraded.

The property is mostly an RV park with cabins for non-RV travelers. They are nice. The scenery around the place is beautiful. I saw dear every day. It is about 20 miles from Rapid city, so other than Gas it is a drive to buy anything. The room is basic and a little old. They don’t clean every day, so you need to make you own bed and take out the trash. They do have a fridge and coffee pot. If I had more people with me I would have had to change out towels.

Very nice resort. We stayed in one of the sleeping cabins. Very clean, but the main bed matress needs to be replaced. The futon was more comfortable. Bathrooms were nice and clean. It is a very large resort/campground. Next time we plan on staying in one of the bigger cabins. Overall very pleasant stay.

Nice, clean room with fridge and microwave and friendly folks at the office! Only thing I wish they’d do differently is clean up the trash behind the cabins. It wasn’t horrible, but maybe should be looked at more frequently. We had our littlest pup with us, and decided not to walk back there after the first time. Also, maybe they could put up some sign telling people to pick up their dog’s poop!! Overall it was a great stay (4 nights).

Very roomy for what we paid for, and well done in most areas. What we didnt care for so much was the floor was extreamly dirty (we have a crawling baby and he was very dirty very quickly like it doesnt get mopped) And the dish tv you could turn off but it turns itself back on all night very loud. Had to unplug everything to get it to stop. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay as well as the view outside

The location is great. Very accessible to Sturgis, Deadwood and northern attractions. And close to Rapid City and the airport. Beautiful view. Facilities could use an upgrade. Under new management who is sprucing it up. Having the Petrified Forest Museum on site was a big plus. Nice, educational museum and trail.

Extremely outdated but it was nice to have the extra room to spread out.

Great quiet stay in a spacious room.

We’re were really hoping that this would be a place we could enjoy and potentially secure for a family reunion the next year. Checking in took 25 min because they were updating their system and could t find my reservation. They were a little put off because I was in basketball shorts and a tshirt from an 8 hour drive. They asked to see my ID twice and then forgot my name. The room was like a less well kept motel six. The WiFi didn’t work in the room only on the porch and the power went out three times in the 7:00 hour. Not our finest experience, in fact this became our lowest standard of acceptable in our whole cross country trip. They seemed to prioritize their RV and Camping guests over those who rented the rooms.
