The Island Home

Good AC, great hot water and wifi was sufficient. Hosts were very responsive on WhatApp. There was no water one morning and they pretty promptly delivered a bottle of water in the meantime. There were no other problems with water at any other time. Not too noisy and away from the main strip which made it feel more authentic. It had a nice enclosed outdoor eating area on the top floor. The area felt safe. They took the effort to make swans out of the towels which made it feel like there was attention to detail. There was a large full-length mirror which was super helpful when getting ready to keep the bathroom free for showering. There was tour information in the same building & a water jug to refill your water bottles.

Our priorities were to have a basic, secure, clean room with a tiny bit of extra space and basic amenities. We needed one double bed but paid a little extra to have an "extra large" double bed and a double bed so we could keep our luggage off the floor. At check-in we were assigned a room with only one double bed and asked to wait until the next day for the room we paid for. The next day we moved across the hall. The new room only had two twin beds. They asked us to wait another day for the room we paid for (our availability to move didn't line up with their services) at which point my husband decided he didn't want to move again so we pushed the beds together and kept the room we had. Not the end of the world but a bit of a nuisance and not what we paid for. In either case the cleanliness of the bath/shower and some linens was questionable. Bedding and towels may have just been on the older side, which is fine, but had some small staining. The shower didn't look or feel super clean. Inconsequential to us, but there was a mini-fridge but no microwave in the room. Perhaps up in the kitchen area? Also inconsequential to us, there were pretty much no toiletries so if you're counting on that being provided you might want to plan otherwise. One concern is that at check-in you're asked to enter into the guest book your name, email address, and passport number for each guest. I didn't realize that it would remain on the unmanned desk, open for anyone to peruse at any time. Some people actually had their signatures on display. I wish I had declined that but thought it was something they'd keep secure and away from public view. Not specific to this property but roosters start crowing at about 4 or 5 am which is nothing anyone can, or should, do anything about---it's part of the experience, but some advice would be to bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper like my husband lol.

The place was great. We like everything about it with the exception of a so-so shower.

Amazing shower, great AC, working tv with many channels, clean sheets, good hosts with a good basic breakfast and available to be contacted via WhatsApp when needed.

I little walk away from the main area but that was clear in the description. It’s only about a 10 minute walk from the beach front/Barbour or a 3 min taxi ride.

A perfect place to stay in Puerto Ayora. Friendly and really helpful staff, nice room with TV, air conditioner, good new matress and pillows. Change of towels every day. Great breakfast. A bit far from the city center (10-15 minutes walking) but for that a really calm and safe street and nice local restaurants next to the hotel. Taxis come every 10-15 minutes even early in the morning, so you can easily come to the city center if you don't want to walk (a taxi ride costs 1,5 dollars). I enjoyed my stay in the Island Home.

いくら物価が高いと言っても値段と設備が釣り合っていません。 天井近くだけの小窓しかない部屋で冷蔵庫なし、バスルームは多少広いですがあまり綺麗ではありません。 連泊なのにタオルの交換ありませんでした。 唯一プラスを見つけるなら、周囲がローカルエリアなので繁華街より商店やレストランの値段が安いことくらいでしょうか。

They were very helpful in organizing the tours and costs less compared to booking online through Viator etc .

Nothing too big, all good. Was supposed to do an airport pickup but no one was there on arrival but getting there on the tiny island isn't hard at all! There was no power or water one morning and no idea what had happened but on return everything was fine.

The host was extremely helpful (i.e. early breakfast when you have early tour, helping with the local guides, Galapagos knowledge, laundry, etc). They cleaned the room everyday and changed the towels several times. The air-conditioning is very good and we needed it (air exchange rate is low). The breakfast is good.

Toilet brush is missing. The wifi wasn't strong in our room.

Location is further from port but it’s a cheap taxi (1.5 USD one way) to get there and property will help you to arrange. Room had a slightly damp smell but no issues.

Owner was friendly and helpful but the hotel or B&B grossly overpriced! The neighborhood was away from the tourist area and the outside of the hotel was unappealing. The 10 minute walk to Darwin Street was in a poor section, an old mattress lying about. Breakfast was good. The reception area was poor. I have photos. Worth about $40 a night not the $110 l prepaid and could not cancel reservation
