Hampton Inn & Suites Fort Wayne Downtown

Great location

Room was lacking supplies - no extra toilet paper, caffeinated coffee packets or creamers, and iron did not work

This downtown hotel was very impressive. Easy unloading of vehicle on a busy street with a semi covered walking path to the parking garage. The check in attendant was very professional and articulated instructions about the facility layout in an easy to understand manner

The downtown location overlooking the baseball field was incredible. The fireworks at the end of the night were the icing on the cake. So good!

During our stay, there was only one working elevator. We waited way too long every time we wanted to leave our floor, or return to it. We were told it would be fixed the day we checked in. It was still not working when we checked out.

The bed was comfortable and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The parking was hard to find and get to. The doors in the hotel room had hand prints all over them.

Clean and staff is great.

The hotel facilities are fine, but the street below my window is apparently used for racing all night. The smoke detector flashes every 15 seconds like a strobe light. It wasn't until the end of our stay that someone was able to explain how to connect an XBox to the room TV. Parking is in a paid garage, and "validation" at the hotel costs $15/day (the garage is $8/day).

Breakfast was okay. The location was perfect for accessibility: across the street from the Convention Center and a half block away from the Theatre - both major venues during the North American Brass Band Association Competition. The room was very spacious and clean.

Breakfast: no hardboiled eggs! But I realize the eggs were still at a premium a month ago.....so I'll give that a temporary pass. The folks with disabilities who seem to be permanent residents of the hotel were interesting; however it was a bit disconcerting and unappetizing to observe one of them coughing into the breakfast food while getting breakfast one morning.
