Hilton Garden Inn Corning Downtown

Honestly, very very few hotels are as impeccably run as this gem. It's not just that the place is spotlessly clean. It's that everything works, and everything is updated. From the strong showerhead and water pressure to the modern gym equipment to the lightning-fast TVs, nothing is outdated or tattered or dirty. The staff are all exceptionally dignified, pleasant and knowledgeable. And the location is literally perfect--right beside Corning HQ, and a short charming walk across a scenic bridge to an excellent Wegmans supermarket. If I had to choose one word to describe this property, it would be PROFESSIONAL. 10/10

This hotel is very close to CMOG (Corning Museum of Glass), it is as close as CMOG’s parking lot but on the nicer southern side next to the river. An easy 5 to 7 minute walk. The location also allows you to walk in to downtown Corning, about a 15 minute walk across one of several bridges into the town. The location is great. The town is about 10,000 people with almost all dining along the Main Street. We were there over the 4th of July weekend and were quite impressed with the fireworks display by the Lyons Club. Really spectacular for the town’s size - about 20 minutes long. CMOG is an amazing museum: part art and part science. You can also make glass ornaments, vases, vases in an adjacent building - which we did and was fun. The glass needs to cool overnight so you need to return the next day. The museum admission is for 2 days so that solves the problem. Staying at the hotel between the two nights worked out well. The hotel was nice except for breakfast. They have a full service breakfast rather than a buffet. Wait times between sitting down and receiving your food were an hour or a little more. The staff was working hard, but just too few. Unless they change to a buffet or get more help, I would go elsewhere for breakfast. They were a little short staffed at checkin/out as well but tolerable. Perhaps it was the holiday weekend.

It was perfectly located for a visit to the museum of glass. The staff were very friendly and the room was clean and spacious.

The staff misinformed us about the pool. We were unable to access our room even though we had done an online check in for 3pm. By 6pm we were still unable to get in.

Clean and comfortable, dog friendly though dog fee too high, Hilton letting hotels charge too much for dog fees. Hotel in wonderful location, located in town of Corning, a charming historic town home of Corning glass well worth a stop on your trip.

This was our favorite stop on our ride from Buffalo to NJ but not anymore We were there this past Sunday June 29th . Checked in tired and hungry . We were told the restaurant opens at 5pm. We thought great only 20 minutes from now. Well 5:30 went downstairs to find other guests asking why it wasn’t opened yet. Front desk lady made a call and then said “ oh it’s not open Sunday” well that is contrary to EVERYTHING posted in the lobby and in their website. We have a service dog where to eat? We were handed a list ( after asking) of restaurants that do not deliver and most are closed on Sunday . Back in the car to a local pizzeria for takeout . Never heard from Hilton again since I’m owed food and beverage credit. Couldn’t use it at breakfast they did not have take out containers. I don’t care about the list credit I care about the lack of knowledge the staff had. They should bring done people on from another hotel to train them. None of these hotels are inexpensive and I have status with Hilton very disappointed. Accurate information would have made everything fine.

The hotel was extremely clean and had very nice amenities.The Staff was friendly and extremely helpful. We had a breakfast in their dining room, which was really good. T sure here was a little kiosk area with all the little amenities you might need including chilled wine. The hotel was conveniently located to the corning glass museum. Overall a really great stay and we definitely come back the next time we are in the area.
