Shangri-La The Marina, Cairns

The team was brilliant!! Fede at the Horizons club went above and beyond to make our stay most enjoyable. Thank you. Check-in was seamless, checkout was great.

In some parts the facility is showing its age. still best location and reasonable value.

The staff are what made this stay the 10 out of 10 stay of stays. Arriving at the door where we were meet by the brightest smiles and most helpful group of concierge's.... all the way to packing our cars to leave... Seriously just Super Stars. Checking in was a breeze, and we were not the easiest clients, with bikes and all sort of things needing to be move around in preparation for the race.... Breakkie at the Backyard - wow what a selection, and once again greeted by the biggest smiles... we were a large family group and it worked perfectly. The room attendants were all friendly and so accommodating.... fresh towels every day and a made bed. We stayed on the 4t h floor... the view was sensational Can not praise highly enough the group working in this hotel.

The lack of hot water late in the evening was a bit sad, but the hotel was super full and we completely understand the demand that the system would have been under with the amount of iornman crews staying.

Beware of booking during the Ironman competition. It was very noisy. But the hotel changed our room on request

Not many staff in restaurant for dinner but the food service was quite fast.

The room itself was spacious and the view was nice.

Upon arrival we were given a small map of the hotel and encouraged to walk to our room with our luggage. We were shocked at how long and complicated the walk was and felt we should have been encouraged to at least have luggage brought up. The room itself was spacious and nice, however, we did not like the helicopter coming and going and the event at the Salt House on our 1st night which went till 2 a.m. at unacceptable sound levels.

We loved our stay in Cairns. It was a perfect location, our room was huge and very well equipped. There is a bar near the pool to grab a drink and a beautiful breakfast area. There are so many options to eat within walking distance and it is within walking distance to the shopping centre, Casino and Wharf to catch the boat out to the reef. Our car did not leave the carpark for our 2 night stay!

Car parking was $30 a night at the hotel.

Locations was perfect. Gardens and pool amazing. Very central to all restaurants along pier.
