Hampton Inn South Hill

The room upgrade was great. The lady at the front desk was very nice and accommodating. The breakfast choices are good.

The mattresses could be upgraded It didn't sleep well.

Clean riins and publucvarea. Bathroom fan nin functional and poor water pressure.

The staff who checked me in was not rude per se but extremely unpleasant, unfriendly, short and abrupt. She did not offer me bottled water upon checkin as i have been previously (I saw the bags set up behind the desk). The strong smell of air freshener was overpowering and caused all of my clothes to smell after leaving. This is a huge concern due to a fragrance allergy and unsafe conditions for humans and pets. I’ve stayed at this hotel at least a half dozen times and this was by far the most disappointing stay. This was the first time I was asked to leave a credit card for incidentals which was fine but unusual given that I have stayed here a lot and have never had to provide a CC. Not sure why a portion of the floor in the room was replaced with a hard floor especially since it seems the old carpet was still in place. The minimal cosmetic changes in the rooms seemed unnecessary and did not make them any “nicer”. The back door near the pool was consistently propped open which is a safety issue that should be addressed. The staff at the desk upon check out was pleasant and friendly.

The stay there was terrible bathroom zinc stopped up wall outlet in the bathroom off off the wall one of the queen beds smell like pee, and customer service wasn’t friendly

Breakfast was delicious. The most friendly hotel staff we’ve ever encountered.

The room was absolutely enormous, like bigger than most studio apartments! The breakfast was actually really good, there were some hot options, waffles, pastries, fruit, yogurt, and cereals.

My only complaint was I didn't find the bed comfortable, I'm sure because we have a hybrid gel/foam mattress and this was a standard spring mattress. Other people might not be bothered. And it was fine for a one night stopover, just not my favorite.

Staff was very friendly & helpful. The rooms are outdated & the comforters were dingy and carpets throughout were dirty!

We stopped here for a one night stay while on a road trip. The lobby looked nice. The room, however, was in poor condition. The curtains were falling off the window. There were two sinks in the bathroom and one was clogged with standing dirty water in the sink. Bed linens were dingy looking. Fortunately we were just there overnight, but I’d never stay there again.

The accessible room we booked online was not avaliable when we checked in. We were given a room without handicap accessibility. The room was clean but it had just been cleaned and the smell of disinfectant was so strong we had to leave our room and go back out until the smell subsided. This must be an older Hampton Inn as they were renovating and all of the furniture and bedding was shop worn. We love Hampton Inn but this wasn't a pleasant stay for us.
