Fairfield Inn & Suites Mansfield Ontario

We arrived around 730pm on a Friday night. It is under construction, and it shows. Huge storage containers with boxes laying around them in the parking lot. Makes for tight parking. I went to the reception desk, the entrance is dirty, boxes and materials leaning against the frame of the entrance door. Everything is dusty, large rolls of material laying in the reception area by the breakfast area, nothing is stacked away out of sight. Elevator is dirty. Came to the room, fairly small, can barely open the refrigerator. Tried to call front desk to get a wake-up call, phone is dead. Manager came with replacement phone, also dead. Manager brings alarm clock, not working as expected. Breakfast was a joke, nothing worth mentioning. I had used my elite night and when I came home on Saturday night I had an email with my bill. Checked my credit card statement, got charged $270. Called the hotel, front desk stated manager was not there and I had not used my points, (No, not points, my ELITE NIGHT). Manager will not be back until Monday sometime. This hotel is a disaster. I would not at all recommend this hotel. There are other places available in that area, also Marriott, that are likely to be a much better experience.

Renovating hotel and doing great!

First problem was when I arrived; instead of a receptionist, there were workmen renovating the lobby. Hotel didn't tell me this. First rm they gave me had equipment in it and I had to chnage. They asked if I wanted rm service and I said yes. Left a $5 tip but rm was not made up. There were no tissues in the bathroom and no armchair in the rm. Last straw, when I went to shower, no body wash.

There was no way we were staying at this hotel. We were never told it was under construction. Filthy. Stinks.

This property is under construction and being remodeled but not the best quality work. Our bathroom was redone and the toilet was set crooked. Elevator was old and very squeaky.

We were welcomed at the front desk by a representative dressed with his shirt inside out and green spiked hair. Then arrived a little later to our room greeted by a human hair on one of the beds. Very was very disturbing not knowing what else we would experience later in the visit. The hotel was under renovation which we weren’t made aware of. This was evident in the condition of the elevator.

They are in the middle of remodeling so it’s very loud during the day. The ice machine isn’t accessible due to construction and the front desk doesn’t have access to ice AND their little store didn’t have any water. The pool is closed for construction. Non of this was conveyed to us prior to check-in. The room was nice and clean.

Outstanding receptionist at check-in went above and beyond duty to assist me. Person who stocked the breakfast bar was efficient, friendly, and cheerful. It was a joy to have breakfast in her presence.
