MYVery ideal location. Walking distance to lake garden, and most of the famous eateries and tourist attractions. Room and bathrooms are clean. Staffs were helpful.
1. Dark corners and corridors The space in front of the room named "Monkey" was quite dark most of the time, both during the day and at night. While there is a vintage table lamp in the area, I felt that it did not provide sufficient lighting for the space, especially as it is located just before a steep staircase. As a guest, I found myself walking more carefully for safety reasons. Additional lighting in this area would help improve visibility and make the space feel safer and more welcoming, particularly for solo travellers and guests moving around at night. 2. Table lamp upon request The room is well equipped with air conditioning, a vintage fan, and a ceiling lamp. As a solo traveller, I usually prefer to keep a table lamp on or have a brightly lit corner in the room, so I hope the table lamp I requested can be provided as a standard room feature rather than an optional item. 3. Worn floor mat near the shoe rack There is a worn floor mat placed near the shoe rack. Unfortunately, it felt a little sticky and unhygienic when I accidentally stepped on it. I hope it can be replaced or cleaned regularly for hygiene purposes and to improve guests' overall comfort.

GBI loved this hostel. The location, the staff and owners, how clean and comfortable it was. For a hostel an absolute joy. Everything you need is closed by. There's a lot of charm to Taiping. Don't let it pass you by. It's a beautifully run and quaint hostel. Everything is spotlessly clean. Very safe and convenient. Aircon, free coffee and tea and a nice quiet lounge area.

DEJust the whole place is amazing. Spotless place, amazing location close to Lake Gardens and across the street with a bunch of kopitiams. Interior is also super fun and detailed, you can spend a lot of time exploring all the different items and pieces of decoration. And I always love the old Malayan shop houses like this one. Really cozy and I had a very good time staying there.
