WildLife Lodge Katoomba

Convenient location, quiet street, downstairs area was perfect for a couple of teenagers. Showers were hot and good pressure. We were able to stay warm without issue with the available heating. Clear communication and easy access.

Fabulous location in the heart of Katoomba. Comfortable and quiet. Host was very responsive and flexible.

It was a spacious house and very quiet . Walking distance to Katoomba RSL and the shops. The beds were comfortable and clean .. It was cold when we arrived and the AC worked well and warmed the house up quickly . The kitchen was well equiped if you needed to cook .

It smelled a bit damp under the house . We didn’t use the facilities down there , so didn’t really matter . The curtains in one of the bedrooms had mould on the back of the curtains and could do with a wash . The cushions on the sofa were a bit grubby too and needed to be washed . Also the shower in one of the bathrooms had mould on the bottom of the door and in the grouting. Nothing too major and I’m sure the owner could fix these things .

Well furnished and generously equipped, inc kitchen and wifi. Also easy to relax in and lots of great features including a great selection of interesting books, games, local info, large private garden, deck with morning sun, rumpus room, ping pong table and fire pit. Easy walk to beautiful walking tracks, shops and village. All we wanted and more.

The bathroom fans could use an upgrade (noisy at night) and a flyscreen on the bathroom window would be good.

Our stay at WildLife Lodge in Katoomba was unfortunately overshadowed by the host’s unwelcoming and uncomfortable approach. While the house itself was decent, the experience dealing with the host, Faye, was disappointing. Before arriving, we received several strict and cold messages. It felt more like dealing with a landlord than a host. The most troubling part came during the stay, when Faye sent a message saying she had reviewed security camera footage and claimed the number of people and cars didn’t match our booking. She told me she was “afraid we weren’t following the rules” — this felt very invasive and accusatory, even though we were transparent and within reasonable limits. Being messaged like this during a family trip, and told we “didn’t appear to have children,” made us feel judged and constantly watched, not welcomed. Overall, this was one of the least comfortable hosting experiences I’ve had. If you’re looking for a relaxing family stay where you can feel trusted and respected, I would not recommend this property.

Location is central to everything, great common areas and plenty of room

Spacious and comfortable house for our group of 7 with all the amenities we needed for a great stay. We're able to get the house was nice and warm in no time, topped off with under floor heating in the bathrooms! Good location for exploring local walks and bike tracks within walking distance of Katoomba town centre.
