Fauna Montevideo is located in a historic building from 1927 and therefore does not have an elevator, so guests must use the stairs to reach the accommodations. Starting October 1, 2025, the Municipality of Montevideo has implemented a daily tourism tax of US$1 per person per day for all tourists, with a maximum of US$5 per person, to be charged by all registered accommodations. We really enjoyed our stay at FAUNA! Location was perfect to explore the old town and close to port, the staff were very friendly and helpful with many local recommendations and we absolutely loved the design inside: shared space and rooms! Highly recommend this place and would stay here again!
