Staff were friendly

Hotel needs TLC…. Bit run down and drab. Food was ok…. Early bird menu not available to residents! water takes ages to heat up

Staff were very good. Great location, quiet and out of the town.

Bed was terrible in Room 5, I could feel the springs! Cold draught coming from the window although I didn't mind some cool air. My room was very 'tired' including the shower/toilet room. This used to be a really nice place to go for a good meal, although this was the first time I had actually stayed overnight and sadly will be my last!

Really friendly and helpful staff and fascinating building. The breakfast was excellent, good choice and cooked to order.

The room was lacking small things like a luggage stand and glasses in the bathroom. However the new owner is clearly working hard in upgrading everything so hopefully with pick up on these small details.

Location very convenient. Nice rooms. Great breakfast. Friendly hosts.

Jacuzzi next door was very noisy and have disturb slightly. I will request different room on amother occasion whem booking... or take the one with jacuzzi!

Just a little shabby in places

Only stayed a couple of nights but so glad we chose the Mill House Hotel. The room was beautifully decorated with a lovely bathroom and the best shower I have ever experienced. All staff were very professional and naturally friendly, with a lovely and cozy bar area with a good selection of draughts beers and spirits. As for the food, incredible is the only description I can give. The breakfast was quite possibly the best I have had, superb selection and the quality was excellent. We had one evening meal at the Mill House and again, supurb. We both had the mixed grill which was cooked to perfection, excellent quality meat and lovely presentation. Do not hesitate about booking a stay here as you will not be disappointed, beautiful location, lovely staff, comfy bed and excellent food. Thanks for a lovely stay xx

That we couldn't stay longer

The staff were ever so helpful. Very helpful and nothing was too much bother. They are a credit to the hotel. I was able to sit, do some work with a pint, then got master control of the TV remote to watch the football. My meal was fantastic, so compliments to the chef. Reasonably priced food and beer.

The furniture in the cosy lounge/bar is definitely showing wear and tear. My main issue was my room. Its clear this room, number 6, needs some TLC. Don't get me wrong, it was spotless but needs sprucing up. The mattress is obviously needing replaced, the whole room needs painting and it did have a strange odour. I like a shower before bed, but it wouldn't work. You need to press a button on the wall to turn it on but no matter what, no water came out. It did however work the next morning but like the room, I would say the shower needs updating. Breakfast made to order, but dissappointed that I could not get my morning Cappuccino. I was told they don't make them at that time of the day. No idea what that means. Cost wise, I've stayed in better and more up to date/modern hotels but don't let it put you off.
