Travelodge by Wyndham San Clemente Beach

Parking was bad for a truck, required to park in back where there were only about 6 spaces, which were taken by sedans. The hotel is very old, not modernized like other Travelodges that we’ve stayed at, probably sufficient for those only wanting a place relatively close to the beach. The refrigerator had been turned off and defrosted freezer water spilled out to the floor when we opened the door. The heater fan was exceptionally loud, woke up every time it turned on. Overall an unenjoyable experience.

Great staff, very clean. Will be back!

It was close to freeway

I loved how close it was to the beach and several things I wanted to do for my beach vacation! It was nice for walking around, walking to the beach and having access to food. But I was disappointed in my room. I thought I was paying for a room that had a bathtub since there wasn’t a community hot tub and I have chronic back issues. I was given an ADA accessible room with a sitdown shower. Having a balcony was nice but it was a view of a golf course and not the ocean. I feel like I paid too much money for an average experience. The staff were very nice and accommodating when my room key stopped working. The beds are extremely firm, which I think contributed to my increase in back pain. If you prefer soft beds and fluffy pillows be warned. It was very clean, but again, average experience in my hotel stay history.

Room needs black out curtains if they are going to keep the lights outside the room on all night.
