Huntingdon Hotel and Suites

The location of this hotel is perfect for those wanting to explore what Victoria’s inner harbor has to offer. It’s just on the edge of the primary attractions without being right in the middle of it. Staff were always helpful & friendly. Despite it being an older hotel, they have made conscious attempts to update aspects of the rooms but there are aspects of the building that show its age. Rooms are spacious with everything you require for your stay. The underground parking lot is very convenient and spacious. Breakfast buffet was great value. We also had afternoon tea at the house located on the property and it was excellent.

Unfortunately there’s a bunch of construction on the ferry terminal across the street but the hotel makes guests aware of this through signage and communications. It didn’t bother us, but you should expect additional noise.

After check in we had to get our suitcases up the steps. Out of almost nowhere came a helping person who helped us Ladies with it, which was very appreciated. The large room was clean with a little kitchenette and dining table which was very useful, since we travelled with our little doggie. The large and diverse Buffet-style breakfast every morning was delicious and there was something for every taste. Housekeeping was very helpful and so was the Front Desk. I particularly was happy with their "GREEN" ideas and how they conveyed them to their guests without pressure. Thank you for caring. The Hotel was centrally located within walking distance to Down Town, to the docks for boat tours or to catch one of those charming Sea Taxis or Sea planes. Restaurants and Pubs galore. Also historic and old charm Fisherman's Wharf was not far to walk. Thank you for a wonderful week at your charming Hotel. Victoria, BC is well worth a trip.

Great location and price. Room was fine - 2 queen beds for 3 adults. Would be cramped for an extended stay but we were only there for 1 night. Greatly appreciated the Nespresso machine in the room but would have loved similar at breakfast - not just drip coffee. Adequate buffet breakfast.

Check in time was very busy

This was by far the worst hotel experience I've ever had. My friend and I were locked out on our balcony at around 1:00 AM because of a faulty balcony door lock that the hotel had clearly failed to inspect or maintain properly. We were trapped outside in our robes in the cold for approximately 40 minutes. During that time, the hotel did not call 911 or emergency services, despite the obvious safety risk. The only person who showed concern was a kind resident in the building across from us, who threw us a blanket because she could see we were freezing. When the maintenance worker finally arrived, he brought a ladder and attempted to get us down in what felt like an extremely unsafe manner. He also refused to drill the door open, even though all of our belongings, phones, and personal items were locked inside the room. Instead of focusing on the emergency, he was asking us where we were from, which felt completely inappropriate given the situation. We were not able to get back into our room until nearly 3:00 AM. To make matters worse, the manager acknowledged the seriousness of the incident and promised us a refund. The incident occurred on March 5, and as of May 29 we still have not received it. We have followed up multiple times and have been repeatedly passed back and forth between the hotel and Expedia. The hotel told us to contact Expedia, while Expedia informed us they never received anything from the hotel regarding the promised refund. At no point has either party taken responsibility or shown genuine concern for what happened. Being trapped outside in freezing temperatures in the middle of the night due to the hotel's negligence was bad enough. The lack of urgency during the incident, followed by months of being ignored afterward, has made the entire experience even worse. I would strongly advise others to think twice before staying here.
