La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Spokane Downtown

Staff was new and made mistakes but they were genuinely kind and were doing the best they could.

The location is not the best. There is a large homeless community camped across the street. Additionally, the room was 95 degrees when we walked in and after waiting a couple of hours, they could not get it to cool off enough to be comfortable. They had no other rooms and it was after midnight so they said they would cancel the rest of our stay and refund the first night. They didn't end up canceling the stay or issuing the refund in the morning so we had to go back to talk to the manager. He was deeply apologetic and I give them all the benefit of the doubt, but it was not a pleasant experience for us. I'm still waiting on my refund to come through a few days later, but I was given a receipt so I'm not too concerned.

It is a nice hotel but is definitely not the cleanest. The carpets look kind of dirty and the rooms are not cleaned at all during your stay. We were there for 4 nights and never saw anyone cleaning rooms or the hallway. Very nice staff. There’s also a big population of unhoused people at the 7-eleven across the street. The hotel is fenced off and does feel safe. Overall not a bad stay.
