Resort at Longboat Key Club

The beach was COVERED with sand fleas so we basically got hundreds of bites all over our bodies which was awful. The people at the front desk were not very warm or kind, the construction outside the rooms was so loud I couldn’t even relax. It was very annoying!!!! Accommodations very outdated, place WAY overpriced.

Unfortunately we also experienced a housekeeping problem. When the cleaners took the sheets off my son’s bed they took his bunny with them. He’s 5 years old and has had this bunny since birth, so he was distraught. We travel extensively and have never had items taken from our room, even by accident. The response or lack there of by management was even worse. They texted me that the item was reported “lost” and they never called or showed any concern for the matter. When a guest’s possessions no matter a toy or a Rolex is missing from their room it’s a reflection on the management and overall hotel. Clearly this hotel needs help with customer service and staff training.

My family has been coming to the LBKC every winter break for the last several years. Each year, there are always certain things that surprise me in a negative way (e.g., cost of beach chairs/umbrellas!). However…. This year in particular, the resort was beyond over packed in a way that I have never seen before. It was like Lord of the Flies for pool chairs, and both the pool and the hot tub looked like overstuffed sardine cans….when they were working properly! Each year something inevitably breaks in the hot tub causing it to be unusable. Last year, the heat was not working properly in the pool. The fitness center was also crowded to a point that I have never seen before. It was physically impossible to move through the space at times or find somewhere to go use free weights or stretch. The saving grace is that the rooms are always beautiful and convenient. It would be hard to imagine coming back here again over a holiday break.

I left a drawer full of clothes and shoes, and the Housekeeper kept it. I worked with the Security team, but they could not find my property and suggested that I call the Sarasota police department and file a report. I called the Property manager named Burt and left two voice messages. He did not return my call. I left another message for his boss Dianne, and she didn't return my call either. Very Unprofessional management team. Following up with Ocean Properties LTD now.

God has truly given my husband Brian and I the gift of staying here several times. Every single time we are so grateful for the amazing staff! I wanted to switch rooms to get our usual rm. Yadier and the woman also at the front desk(I didn’t get her name),she actually took us up-)were SO accommodating! Kassie the waitress(the ENTIRE waitstaff as well as each and every worker on the beach) completely made our stay amazing. We rested in a perfect cabana.(Those guys are hard workers!) It healed me just like the last time. God healed my brokenness by being there! Thank you. (Barb)

I'm surprised how favorable the ratings are. Razor thin walls, militant check out reminders by 11am. Buildings remind me of resorts you see in Cancun or DR. What am I missing? Pool area small. Back to rooms, walls were really slim and we could hear every conversation. I travel a lot and this place has a great location but other than that?

My husband booked our anniversary getaway at this location Oct. 22nd; it is a beautiful property with an amazing spa facility. The problem was being in an awesome room awakened at 7ish in the morning, by construction workers repair the roof overhead; why would the resort not inform us of this activity at or prior to check-in? Highly disappointed that we were not given a CHOICE of another room, since we couldn't enjoy the balcony for the noise of hammering. Then at check-out we were blocked in the parking lot by the landscaping crew and equipment - awful experience.
