Perfect place for one night sleep as part of a road trip

Beds were a bit too soft for my wife.

It was average for the price point. room was clean but dated and showed wear . Pool area was fair , bathroom terrible ( rust,mildew , typical indoor facility with no ventilation ) . Bed was terrible . I like a firm mattress , but this was like a sheet covering boards . No coffee maker and too late for weekend brkfast .

Smelled like an ash tray/pet crate. I don’t know how they got any kind of a rating.

We stayed overnight in York last weekend. We knew we would be arriving late, after midnight, and needed to leave fairly early the next morning, so didn't want to spend a lot. We reserved a room here as it seemed to be a mid-priced alternative with a free breakfast, but I wouldn't go back. My wife was immediately turned off by the front desk. It had a red rope light around the desk and a plexiglas barrier, making her feel like it was some kind of sleazy place for one-night stands. The beds were clean and in good shape, but everything else was disappointing. The tub/shower walls had what is probably a permanent grunge that can't be removed by cleaning. The tub was very slow draining, and the ceiling around the bathroom exhaust fan had rust coming through the paint. The dresser that the TV was on was damaged on the corner, and the finish on the top was worn and looked bad. The walls in the hall, stairway, and breakfast area all had chipped paint and looked very run-down. They could easily look much better with a fresh coat of paint. The breakfast was disappointing as well. They had the standard waffle maker, but cold cereal, cold boiled eggs, plain bread and bagels were the only other options. My wife added a sealed container of creamer to her coffee and it was chunky. The end of the corridor that our room was on was blocked partway down the hall with a dropcloth, so maybe they are working on some renovations, but I strongly suggest another hotel option in York.

Easy to get to, floor was dirty, bed was very hard. Staff was very friendly.

We pulled up from a long drive to 5 police cars in the hotel parking lot, I guess there was some shooting situation and the police were searching a vehicle. Cigarette butts everywhere outside and hotel smelled, also room and pillows stunk, so had to febreeze everything twice. We booked The Victorian hotel due to it's great reviews, but it's pretty gross and will not stay there again.

My stay was for work/business. I stayed two different days in two different room and both times the bathroom shower tub is stained and looks dirty, additionally there was mold in the top part of the shower surrounding. The parking lot was not cleared and had large amounts of snow and ice, I almost fell and slipped in the door exit into parking lot

No hot water

Unfortunately, the property is not in the best shape, and there was no hot water available
