Hilton St. Louis Frontenac

The location

The rooms in the Clayton building . Too far away from the entry and exit. No windows

Do not stay here. First off, the layout of this hotel is very odd, a little like a motel. They have a main building, where you check in, but they have an “out” building called the Clayton, that is completely separate from the main building. The night we arrived the Clayton building had no power, so the lobby, rooms and garage were pitch black and the elevators did not work. They moved is to a suite in the main building, which had a septic smell in the shower drain, many of the electrical outlets were broken and lights did not properly work. This is an “old world charm” hotel that is just old. We also found many of the front desk staff to be not friendly or helpful. Our room was not cleaned after our first night and when I called to ask, the front desk said that if our do not disturb sign was up (we took it down at 10:00am) the cleaning staff would not have come back later. I expect far better for the rates this hotel charges for being in the Frontenac area. Do not stay here.

The bathroom needed updating.

Old. It's old, it's musty. Smells bad. Be careful to not bother the wait staff in Provinces, the onsite restaurant. 930pm, and she's not interested in more people?!

Did not use Gym Drinks were fine.

The room was fine. But old. The room was clean. Towels were very good the first night, but really mediocre on the 2nd night

Bed comfort 5/10. Lack of sufficient outlets for this date and age. Old facilities, but functional. A completely broken car was parked in front of the entrance to this section, all the time. Either someone left it there or I don't know what. Staff sitting on the floor, as if this were a remote corner of the hotel, waiting for pickup. Not a great experience entering the room. The front desk was nice on check-in. But we had a question about check-out and the agent was really unhelpful not answering my question directly. Booking message from the Hotel said check-in was available until 11 pm, but when I called the hotel, they said it is 24h. This hotel seems to need much better management

The staff was friendly rooms were spacious and clean

I am from STL and my brother had his wedding at the Frontenac Breckenridge, so when I came to visit and stayed at the Frontenac Hilton, I expected it to be a great experience. However, the hotel wasn’t updated at all. We had a windowless room and nothing seemed to have been touched in 30 years. It felt creepy and old, not the classy hotel I remembered. Disappointing because it’s a great location.
