The fire alarm going off both morning before 8am

We had a nice time on our trip!

The television went out a couple times when we lost electricity. When the electricity came back the tv didn’t. So for almost an entire day we didn’t have the option to watch the tv.

Convenient. Loved that check out was at 12.loved the balcony

The room had a horrible wet, dingy smell. The carpet probably needs to be cleaned.

Let me start by saying I rarely write reviews, especially negative ones. I booked a room at the Courtyard Marriott in Ocala on November 12-13. The website casually mentioned they were undergoing renovations. When I arrived at 1:00 pm., the elevator in the lobby was blocked off with a plastic curtain and masking tape. I asked if I could take the stairs since my room apparently was over the lobby. I was told I couldn't take the stairs, but that I should park my car around back, take the elevator up to my floor on the other side of the building, and walk down two full hallways (half the building) to my room. Along the way, I noticed that several other doors/elevators similarly were blocked off and there was a strong chemical smell. It wasn't the fact that the renovations were extensive or even the detour to my room that I found troublesome, but the extremely strong chemical fumes that were seeping into my room. After about 4 hours, my eyes were burning and I had a terrmible headache and couldn't take it any more. When I checked out at 5:30 p.m., the woman at the desk did not acknowledge the pain I was experiencing and merely said I wouldn't be "penalized" for checking out early. I'm not sure what penalty there would have been for checking out at 5:30 on the day I checked in. She said nothing when I told her I would have to find another hotel for the night. I strongly urge others not to stay at this Courtyard until the renovations are complete or at least they are done using such strong smelling chemicals.
