Astana Wing - Riverside Majestic Hotel

Location as per our journey plan. Breakfast varieties and good. Staff are polite and helpful. My choice for short stay while in Kuching as pricey for long stay:)-. Love to walk at the waterfront at night watching buskers and lightings.

Convenient location

The location is quite strategic, with the waterfront being right across and many recommended places nearby

The pool, which is in the Puteri wing was subpar. It looked like it wasn’t maintained properly. The Aircond in the room was really cold (which is good), but the duvet/ blanket that was given made it extremely hot to be under; so it was 2 extremes either or.

I like the river view of it.it is kuching waterfront.

I have children’s so we will use swimming pool n gym.but the swimming pool n gym is at the putri wing.we have long way to go there.we only had time to go gym at 8pm.the pool is already close.the way to go there is felt long..so i dont want to take my child to swimming pool the other day.the breakfast is just ordinary.

The biggest issue for us was that the hotel feels quite worn and inconsistent. Some parts seem nice, but others feel outdated or poorly maintained. Also the pool had some murky water which is a clear signs of bacteria. The hotel was almost empty when we visited. We experienced cleanliness issues, which is something we’re quite sensitive to coming from Denmark. There are multiple reports (and we felt it too) of things like mould, stains, or rooms not being properly serviced. The service can be slow or inconsistent. For example, requests sometimes needed to be repeated, and things didn’t always happen quickly. The hotel is marketed at a higher standard, but it doesn’t really feel like it lives up to that. It’s more of a mid-range hotel pretending to be something more. We also had some practical frustrations as a family: Missing items in the room (towels, etc.) Maintenance issues General lack of consistency These small things add up when traveling with kids.

It suppose to be new, but in reality, the facility seem age 30+ years old. Lack of maintenance.

breakfast spead was ok, but some of the pastry overbaked and hard to eat

was requesting room for facing the riverside and king bed, but cannot get it.

Breakfast buffet and the room (bed and all) are great. There's a small fridge provided but I think its a bit watery. The pool is at the other side of the tower and they provided towels for swimmers to use. Other than that, everything looks good.
