Residence Inn Fort Lauderdale Coconut Creek

We arrived late after a long trip. Yana welcomed us in for a wonderful last minute dinner and beverages. The cute hockey bar had a great ambience with live music and a great menu. Live panthers on the screens supporting the local Team! It was a super welcome relief after the long drive to South FL. The food was excellent, the service was superb and the atmosphere rivaled any with warm music!

Yana was fabulous at the bar. She made me an excellent chocolate martini that was one of the best martins I've had. She was funny and kept our group laughing throughout our time at her bar.

I arrived last night with a confirmed reservation. In fact, I already had done the check in through the app. But when I arrived at 1120 pm, this hotel said they had no room for me. They were oversold. There are snowstorms on the east coast, so I get why they might be full. But I made this reservations a while ago, and I had a confirmed reservation (and Bonvoy status, to the extent that should matter). What's even worse, they never even attempted to contact me to tell me that they had given away my room. And they wouldn't even reimburse me for the car I took to the property from the airport. Terrible treatment on every front.

My wife and I have stayed at the Residence Inn Coconut Creek property from January 30 2026 and we are checking out tomorrow February 21 2026. We were in room 422 for 1 night and then moved to 219 due to our request for a room with an oven. The only room that could suit our need was a 2 bed 2 bath. Since I am a gold Bonvoy member we were upgraded at no extra cost. We had several problems plus a number of issues which would like to draw your attention for future improvement. We would not likely stay at this property again unless we are advised that the accommodations have greatly improved. Here is our list: 1) high dining chairs with no backs along with a high table to eat meals. Very uncomfortable and unsafe particularly for ‘older folks’ like us. 2) living room carpet; needs a proper clean more often(smell) and two holes/marks are shown in the photo below 3) lock failure! We were not able to enter our room due to a dead battery. It took diligent staff about an hour to get into the room. Highly stressful. Kudos to Melanie(supervisor?) for arranging the rescue squad. No one at the premises were capable to handle this. The help was called in. Lack of training by attending staff. 4) cutlery was spare. Based on a 2B 2B room there should be enough to serve 3-4 people a meal or two per day 5) no steak knives were given. It took a while for someone to understand us in English to get the proper utensil 6) cooking utensils were also limited. We also want to point out that plastic ones are a health hazard and could cause a fire. 7) due to limited cutlery we had to hand wash all dishes pots etc and had no rack to dry them. 8) the oven was Filthy and aging. 9) lighting: living room has only two small lamps. None in the corner where the couch is located. Too dark. Kitchen area; spot lights would do wonders. The ceiling one is poor. The two lamps over the dining table are too weak. The alternative offered light was too bright. Rework the area please 10) the couch is old uncomfortable and ready for the glue factory. Our backs will remember it for weeks to come in all likelihood. I placed a pillow to minimize this issue. This hotel is not up to the standards of Marriott that we are accustomed. We hope you are listening. We do appreciate it when things are right. p.s my wife likes hot oatmeal but the one you offer is instant flavoured and doesn’t come out properly due to lukewarm water not hot. We had it at Residence Inn Aventura. They make a vat of it and you add what you want to it. Consider it

Our bartender went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. She went out of her way to make sure we had what we needed . She informed us of the upcoming entertainment at the bar. Would come back just to chat with her. Her name is Yana. Fantastic representative for the hotel. 5 stars is simply not enough

Yana is amazing. She was here when we came last year. She was great making sure we had breakfast and made us feel welcome in the restaurant/bar. We will come back because of her !

Wow—this is by far one of the best Residence Inns I’ve stayed at in a long time. They offer live music on Fridays, the bar food is delicious and always comes out hot, and the drinks are on point. Yana at the bar is fantastic—she’s very friendly and always has a big smile while helping guests. I highly recommend this Residence Inn, and you should definitely stop by the bar for a great time.
