Fountain Point

Everything! The staff were very friendly! Expansive property on Lake Leelanau. Beachfront with comfy chairs. Comfy cottage with all necessities. Availability of kayaks, paddleboards, croquet, shuffleboard, ladderball. It was interesting to view the museum filled with treasures from the past.the lodge has a great front porch filled with comfortable furniture.

It was like stepping back in time. Authentic atmosphere was warm and inviting, well kept but not pretentious. So much to do on the grounds and in the game parlor, great escape from TV.

Absolutely beautiful property!

Didn’t eat. But also didn’t smell a thing. There was no info given as to how or where you get breakfast or what was offered.

The facility could be amazing. I understand they are trying to keep the old resort vibe going but that doesn’t mean that the mattresses and beds should be ancient as well. The beds were listed as double beds, they are two twin size beds that a squeak could be heard from miles away. The rooms are barely furnished. The add calls for a private bathroom but it’s actually just three separate bathrooms down the hall with a door lock that I guess means they are private. Much of the decking and facilities need to be maintained. We stayed in the hotel and with those issues we would never come back. We did not stay in the cabins but based on pricing and the facility as a whole they seem to be way overpriced as well. The owners need to put money back into this facility…

The historic atmosphere is special and unique. This makes for a truly memorable experience — something you will not get from a standardized, sanitized chain hotel. The staff were great. The atmosphere was really casual and comfortable.

The interior showed some sign of normal wear and tear, and I think some work on stuff like plaster repair, painting, etc would make guests feel better. What I mean by that is not that these things are really a big deal in themselves, but that they make one worry that perhaps the entire place may be in decline and/or in jeopardy of being lost, which would be a HUGE shame. This wonderful place should be preserved so that future generations can experience it. I am guessing that many guests would be willing to help support that!
