The George at Backwell

great place to stay the night before flying from Bristol airport; can relax in the bar first & then have good night sleep; only 10 minute drive to airport; staff lay out a continental breakfast for early morning travellers & was available for me when I left at 3.30am!! parking at the pub, off road; felt safe. Friendly, helpful staff; fresh milk available for coffee & tea in room.

there was some noise all night from busy main road outside but not enough to disturb sleep; car park gets full on busy nights so arrive a little earlier; room a little small/compact but fine for one night;

The room was lovely, and we had a fantastic dinner. The pub was very busy but still felt cosy. They have a lovely covered outdoor seating area so you can enjoy it even if the weather isn't great! The brownies in the room were 10/10! This was our second stay here, and it definitely won't be our last!

Compact but well appointed, pretty and clean room with comfortable bed. Very nice and helpful welcome. Very good evening meal in a typical country pub. We were catching an early flight from nearby Bristol airport and a continental breakfast was laid out for us for a 4.30am start. Would fully recommend.

You could hear music from the bar in the rooms
