Hótel Fransiskus Stykkishólmi

It is a comfortable big hotel with easy access straight from the ferry to the Westfjords. The young man at the reception was very friendly. Although we made the booking months in advance, we received the last room in the hotel which had a window but no view to speak off. Not something we minded very much but the receptionist offered us on his own initiative (or as a hotel policy) a complimentary drink as a compensation.

It is a former convent and it still looks and feels a bit like a convent or a retirement home - especially with its chapel, the similar type of furniture and if - like us - you receive a bathroom with facilities for disabled people.

Stanza essenziale, pulita ed ordinata. Letto molto comodo. Staff cortese. Colazione a buffet. Essendo un ex monastero all'interno è presente una chiesa dove si svolgono ancora funzioni religiose. Comodo il parcheggio.

I would have wanted a room facing the town

Loved its history as a previous convent, and the chapel in the hotel. Clean and large room.
