The Loft Panwa Resort

Definitely on the more affordable side compared to a lot of other hotels in that area and It wasn’t dirty by any means. The rooms were also spacious.

We were woken at around 4am every morning by roosters and if it wasn’t the roosters that woke us, it was the prayers that were happening on a loud speaker at around 5am every morning (no disrespect at all just something we weren’t made aware of). As a group we had 6 rooms booked, all different types around different areas of the property and all had restless sleep for these reasons. We all ended up forfeiting our last night at the hotel and left early, booking a different hotel instead and bearing the cost.

I was pleasantly surprised after reading some of the reviews. Staff absolutely lovely and smiley, very helpful. The whole place was like a little oasis. Room was nice. I genuinely have nothing to complain about.

Unfortunately, we do not have much positive to say about this hotel, mostly due to no value for money. We stayed here January 8-12 2026. I guess it was positive that we were eventually offered a new room after the staff surrendered in catching the lizard which had shat on and behind furniture in the room that smelled of mold and was generally not clean.

Negatives: Way too expensive! We paid about 4000 Baht per night. Location is horrible - far from everything except a small beach with one over priced restaurant and a 7-eleven on the main road. You need a scooter or taxi to get anywhere and it is still far to the next beaches or town. Staff in reception is not very welcoming (but shout out to housekeeping in their efforts to catch the lizard), the rooms and common area are not clean and the place in general seem to be falling apart.

Very nice accomodation, friendly staff and clean. 15 minute walk from the freediving school. Nice that they have 2 small swimming pools, one with a lot of shadow a bit fresher and another one full in the sun, wich is warmer. Very big clean rooms with a good AC - even though I hardly use it.

The location in Panwa is very boring, I would only go there if needed. For me it was perfect within walking distance of the freediving school, otherwise I might choose another location. If you have a scooter you can drive around though, although it still is quite a drive to Phuket Old Town.
