Darna Hostel

What you see is what you get. It's a beautiful hotel/hostel with a stunning view over the mountains. The staff is super friendly and attentive. The showers are nice and clean, and with warm water. I had a nice stay to unwind and relax.

The atmosphere was really weird… not like a hostel. It’s more a hotel with one or two dorms. The rooftop is a restaurant. The whole building was poorly soundproofed. Could hear every noise (people on the rooftop talking loudly in the middle of the night) The waiter took a nap in the dorm… which was a bit weird.

The terrace is also a restaurant so can be hard to meet people when solo travelling.

The male staff were very friendly and accommodating of several requests I made. The pod style beds were the main reason why I chose this hostel for my stay in Tetouan. The shower was great and it was (surprisingly) the first hostel I stayed at in Morocco that had a bum gun in at least one of the toilet stalls. The rooftop is quite nice. The hostel is easy to get to from the nearest medina gate.

If you are staying in the dorm and have a suitcase, good luck getting up several flights of narrow stairs. I had to leave my suitcase downstairs in a little luggage storage nook for the duration of my stay because there was no way it was going to make it upstairs. The female staff is quite aloof and stared at me blankly when I tried to speak to them in both french and English. My mattress was worn out and needed to be flipped for how much it would valley. The room is super small; the most we ever had was 4 people and all the non-bed space was filled up with our stuff. I honestly can't imagine it with 8 people in the room. The trash can in the room wasn't emptied once in the 4 days I was there. Quiet hours are not respected and music was playing (one song played on repeat, I swear!) on the rooftop at least 2 of the 4 nights I was there. Most egregious, though, is the housekeeping. While I was there, bedding was not changed after at least one guest, possibly more. The bed was literally just hand swept a few times and then remade. Another bed stood unchanged (without even being made up) for several days after the previous guy in it checked out. The floors weren't swept at all during my stay, but one of the female staff kept coming in and spraying the room with some sickly strong smelling air freshener, even when the door had been left open for hours on end to air out. Would NOT recommend this place, unfortunately. I was incredibly disappointed

Staff is so kind! I got on the night bus, so they let me take a shower after check out. And he accompanied me the bus station because it was late (11:30 pm). The bed room and shower room are clean enough. The interior is cute. I could dry my clothes on the line outside the window.

There are lockers under the beds. Some of them are broken and are not clean, so I did not use them. After making a reservation, I sent a message of booking.com , but there was no reply. But I think these are trival things.
