Incredible food.

It would have been lovely to have the option of enjoying breakfast in the casual bar room rather than in our room, to make the most of the fresh air and open space. Unfortunately, this wasn’t offered. The phone in our room wasn’t working, so we couldn’t order coffee directly. When we came out around 9:00 am to request coffee, the area was being mopped, and we felt we were intruding on staff by asking.

The room, the food, the drinks, all exquisite. Staff were incredibly friendly and thoughtful. The beds are extremely comfy, and in room minibar/breakfast emporium was a very welcome touch.

Stillwater Seven is undeniably an Instagram-worthy boutique hotel with beautiful design elements and scenic windows that make a striking impression. However, beneath the aesthetics, the stay fell short in several practical areas.

One major issue was the open-top bathroom design. In a fully enclosed room setting, having no proper separation means odors easily spread into the bedroom space—something that seriously impacted comfort and privacy. Breakfast was another letdown. For a property positioned as premium, a couple of croissants served in a tote bag felt underwhelming and impersonal. We expected a richer, more thoughtful dining experience, especially in Tasmania where food culture is usually a highlight.

The breakfast provisions of Tasmanian Jams, Coffee Machine (or you can order a freshly made one) tasty granola and a pot of berry yoghurt. Plus fresh croissants are delivered to your room door. Our Room - Number 3 looked over the river and having our breakfast looking out onto this beautiful view, what more could one wish for. The room was well appointed, comfortable, and cosy (not small) but just right. Bathroom was stunning Lastly - we were greeted by one of the owners - James and he and all of their staff made our stay so enjoyable
