Gulfview Hotel - On the Beach

Elevator broken. No beach chairs or umbrellas as advertised NEEDS UPDATED

Cleanliness, location, comfort, blocked out bands/noice next door, on the beach.

The pool was very small and hot due to size. I should have read the reviews and I would’ve seen that and stayed elsewhere.

It was nice and clean

The elevator broke through our whole trip. And one of the ladies had bad knees and it was hard for her to go up and down the stairs plus having to carry all our luggage back down when checking out.

I loved the location, the private beach, the multiple lounge chairs, and the centrality of the hotel.

One elevator.

Love the private beach and the staff was really nice!

Very outdated and not very clean. And the elevator was broke so we had to take stairs. We had 4 guests and was only left 3 towels.

The view is great if you don't mind inhaling all the pot/marijuana and tobacco smoke from the nearby balconies

Too many people smoking on the property in the balconies and by the pool where children were playing. Apparently smoking is allowed mostly anywhere at this hotel except inside the room. Now I know who left all the positive reviews. The elevator did not work for two days. We had to carry our heavy suitcases up and down the stairs. The kitchenette area had carpet all around which inevitably gets wet so the room has a musty smell at all times. Otherwise the room was cleaned. This next info if FYI for fellow travellers: <<The Shepard's hotel that is just feet away has live music every evening until midnight. It is very loud. Once could say you get free entertainment. Also, in the mornings but mostly in the afternoons there is a strong smell of gasoline while they refill. You can walk along the private beaches of the 3 properties only, no access to the public beach. The Golfview side of sand is clean but trash often spills over from the Shepard's hotel. The amount of plastic cups, straws, and trash (even saw used baby diapers, etc) on Shepard's side of beach -- most of it ending up into the water -- is disgusting. For walks stick to the south side, Continental, Marriott beach is clean. The water is a bit murky from all the motor boats and it sounds like being near a motorcycle racing at times and there is a lot of plastic floating around.>> Again, the comments about the Shepard's hotel are just for fellow travellers given the very close proximity, and did not influence my review of Golfview.

Beach was small but still a good time
