Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Grand Rapids Airport

Asked for top floor as that is in our profile and preference and they said that they would try but call back day of check in, and they could help then. So, day of check we called early asked for our room and preference per file and once arriving to hotel they were not able to accommodate - guess our lifetime status with this hotel chain does not mean anything. Turns out the front desk person was hotel manager - she could have been a little friendlier especially in her position. Once arrived at front counter another staff member that checked us in was not very friendly and or welcoming either. In the evening the room above us was makign a lot of noise, running, heavy walking so called downstairs to ask for them to call room above us to quieten them down and I don't think it was done as the noise continued for another hour. And started at 4 am again - this is why we do top floor not a second level !! There was mold on the ceiling in the shower area - not ok.

Room was clean...Shauntae at check in was very helpful with 3 rooms family reunion...kids really enjoyed pool...disappointing ..we are seniors and after long day came back to a tv that didnt work and had to relocate to another floor and room..but again young lady at desk was very helpful also without gps finding hotel would be a bit challenging

I understand the property is under refurbishment but the floors were dirty, no soap in bathroom, two containers of shampoo but no body wash, breakfast area is cramped, elevator instills no confidence (took stairs after two rides). Off you’re

Everything was great. We especially enjoyed the newly refurbished pool area.

I canceled my registration with a Afro-American young woman the day of my appt. On face shown to be fixing up; bedbugs; police shot that week stayed at another hotel. We are seniors.

Breakfast satisfactorily

3 days and no refresh of the room. I did request it. Under renovation. Outdated rooms, beds, linens, flooring. Bfast was good, but the bfast service continually needed to be reminded of refills. Ice machine broken.

Clean and quiet with friendly staff. The pool was refreshing, and breakfast was great. Comfy beds. What more could you want?

Needing a room we booked with who had one availible. It’s a Bonvoy member so we thought it would be ok. The price was near twice what it normally would be. There was no one at reception and when she came she couldn’t find our reservation. We finally got in. The room was far from what was expected. Wasn’t looking for 5* but this wasn’t 1. Toilet was broken, water pressure really poor, no hangers, room was not very clean. We didn’t receive towels or clean bedding the second day and no one answered the phone at the desk. I would highly recommend finding a different place to stay.
