The Barn

A really beautiful room with lots of lovely special touches. Fabulous breakfast. Lovely hosts. Would definitely return and recommend. Super comfy bed.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like.

The Barn is cosy and welcoming, with the room containing everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable making for a good night's sleep. We really appreciated the late check-in.

Secure parking, although the host uses two of the four spaces for his own car and van Wifi speed was good, once I found it and got connected (the QR code easy access on the desk did not work on my iPhone 17 Pro)

On arrival the hosts attitude was very poor, very frosty, very unwelcoming. Did not even say hello / how are you! I felt like my visit was an inconvenience to his life, even though I was checking in at 5:30pm - he wanted to go out, to have dinner with family. The worst host attitude I have ever experienced in 35 years of travel! He was dismissive when I asked about connecting to WiFi, and left me without any answer to my question. He refused to serve breakfast at 9am because he had something to do in the morning. The bedroom was freezing cold, bathroom was freezing cold also - the bathroom electric radiator had not even been switched on - it took 4.5 hours to warm the room up to a comfortable level. The Dining / Breakfast room was freezing cold whilst I was having my breakfast. Breakfast ingredients were ok After breakfast the host could not wait to get rid of me, he came knocking on my room door at 9:15am to abruptly ask 'when are you leaving, I need to prepare the room for this evening' - even though check out is permitted up until 10am.
