Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Williamstown

conveniently located close to Williams and to 2 grocery stores, easy parking. Very new and clean

This is by far the best Fairfield Inn I've ever stayed at. I've been at quite a few being a Marriott Rewards lifetime platinum member. I'm guessing the owner's upped their game due to the location it's in. It starts with the front desk staff. One of the workers is also a motorcyclist (currently on hiatus) and gave me all sorts of suggestions on what roads to ride.in the area as well as good recommendation on where to eat dinner. The hotel has a much more upscale vibe that Marriott's other budget hotels. Room 146 had a extra tall ceiling, large windows with privacy blinds that still let the light on, the workspace had a large surface are to spread stuff out, the hotel even had a large outdoor patio with a large fire table in the evening. The place is quiet, set back from the main highway with half of the rooms overlooking some hills and a solid canvas of greenery. It has a small pool and an excellent fitness center. The complimentary breakfast feature the same tired old fare as the other hotels and there is a diner next door if you want something better. The bed was comfortable, but not nearly as plush as what you'd find at a Westin. The few nits I would pick include I was only able to make the shower warm, not uncomfortable, but not as hot as I prefer. The power outlet for the desk is just a little but too far away to plug my laptop in.

We were in town for a wedding and this was one of the suggested hotels. As long term bonvoy members we were happy to stay at a Marriott property. Fairfield Inns are usually very basic hotels. This one was a step above. Our room was lovely with nice decor and window on two different sides of the room. One overlooked the parking lot but the other looked out on a lovely section of woods. Gym and pool standard for Fairfield Inns. Staff accomdating and helpful. Typical breakfast but a plus was when I asked for any gluten free products they happily supplied me with several options that were kept inside for anyone who needed (perhaps a sign in the breakfast area that gf products are available would be helpful). Our only issue is that there was not enough hot water for showers. This was a complaint that I heard several other guest make and was not an issue that was just in our room. The front desk staff stated that it was due to be fully booked for weekend events. This really needs to be addressed and corrected. Being fully booked is a lame excuse.
