Days Inn by Wyndham Newport

No pool or breakfast in years as we found out upon check in. Our second room reservation was not in the system even though I had a confirmation email. Our second room bathroom door wouldn’t shut unless the toilet seat was raised. The rooms looked like they had not been vacuumed in months.

I got locked out of my room at five am. My key stopped working when I went to get a new key there was no one in the lobby. I was locked out of my room for two hours waiting on someone to come to work.

I was able to get some sleep so I could get back on the road.

When we arrived at the facility to check in the door to the lobby was locked with a note on it saying if you need to check in call a certain number which nobody answered. We waited for 15-20 minutes until someone showed up to register us in. And no room key so we couldn't leave if we wanted. When we went to check out the lobby door was locked again and there wasn't any breakfast ready which which they said would be served 6:30-9.

Chinese restaurant right beside was very good.

bathroom door has trouble closing because the toilet sticks out. No refrigerator or microwave in the room.

Totally unacceptable. Smelled smoke at check-in desk. Would not check in because had been assigned to only king size room which was designated smoking when my reservation was for non smoking. Not likely to use Expedia again.

Property location was perfect but the hotel was somewhat rundown. Hard to close doors was the main issue. Also, breakfast was not served.

The room functioned well enough when awake. Sleeping was another matter.

The outside wall is very thin and old. The curtains were insufficient for the long ght right outside. Training to sleep because of the light and the noise from the outside (mostly the highway) was very difficult.
