The reception and service were excellent, as was the food-huge portions! The room was small and slopy, but I think this was reflected in the price that I paid.
I really like this hotel. Its in a great location in the middle of Aylsham which is a lovely little place. The hotel is a vibey pub with decent rooms. The rooms are comfortable and clean and all different. Which makes a change to premier inns etc. The staff are always pleasant and the whole place seems easy and stress free. Ive stayed a couple of times now and will stay again.
Lovely room but could here cars going past at night so hard to sleep need double glazed windows and heavy curtains to shut out noise
The atmosphere of this place is great, we visited on Saturday night and the pub was very busy, i can see why! Excellent food, staff were rushed off their feet but were so attentive, really friendly place and an absolute gem. The staff really make this place what it is, we will definitely be returning.

The staff, food and accommodation far exceeded my expectations. I would definitely return, everything was excellent.
The food is superb at this hotel. Didn’t sleep the first night of our stay due to the bed being on a slope ( old building with uneven floor) but quickly got moved to another room which was very much appreciated, we enjoyed our stay and the breakfast was delicious, staff were all lovely. I will visit again.
It was a bit confusing when we arrived as there was no actual reception or signs telling you what was expected regarding check in process- maybe a note in the confirmation email would help? Room 105 - adjoins quite a busy road so we heard the traffic easily through the single glazed windows- not much you can do with this I guess as the building is listed. Food- lovely dinner and brekky - 10/10. No issues with the staff - they were flat out for both services so had little time to talk to us.
