Motel 6 Scottsboro, AL Hwy 72

I checked in my room and there was 2 roaches belly up and a dead fly on the bathroom floor. I went to the front and requested a refund immediately and went to a different hotel up the street.

We were just passing through but this was perfect for a quick stay. Felt safe, good parking, lighting. Check-in was quick and easy. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Would stay here again.

The staff was friendly and accommodating. However it looks like they might be living there along with others which is fine except when I’m on vacation I don’t want to walk around someone’s house plants/trash on the balcony nor do I want to come in to people grilling in the parking lot. My dog who is terrified of fireworks had to endure 3 hours of fireworks being shot from the balcony and parking lot. It’s a motel 6 so we didn’t expect much but it was all that was left on 4th of July weekend. If people are going to live there they should put traveling guests on one side and let the people who live there stay on the other side. The pillows are very uncomfortable and the bed had a sheet and very paper thin blanket. You could see through it. The people who work there were nice and we didn’t have any issues with check in our out. The room was clean enough but it’s kinda of run down so I’m sure the staff does the best they can. Parking is good if you have a boat which is why we came to the area so we could fish. AC was cold and everything worked. Looks like the staff does a good job but I’d rather not book a hotel where people are living full time.
