Séjour chez Maria inoubliable, piscine pour nous seuls, petit déjeuner fait maison délicieux, chambre et literie confortable, propriété joliment décorée, fleurie et entretenue. Sans oublier les bons conseils de Maria concernant les environs a voir. Très jolie marché le dimanche.
Spent three nights at this rental, which is a private home in the countryside in a quiet area. The homeowners are a retired couple who are very pleasant and accommodating. They offer an excellent breakfast for a few Euros each morning. The home would have been difficult to find if we had not had navigation on our rental car; but once we were in the vicinity, the owners have placed signs that assist in finding the location. Go around to the back of the house to enter the reception area through the first door in the back (not the dining area door). We were a bit confused about where to enter at first. More of a bed and breakfast than a hotel, but the homeowners provided daily maid service and included all of the necessities, including a hair dryer. We would definitely rent here again if going to the area in the future.
USOur group of 5 couples were walking the Camino Portugese and in making the plans ran across Casa das Pias on the Internet. What a find! First of all, Maria and Marcello are excellent hosts with a lovely home. Each tastefully appointed room has it's own bathroom with lovely views and a comfortable bed. They picked us up at the train station in O'Porriño and brought us back the next morning. We were able to take a dip in the pool, which after a long day of walking, was very refreshing! We had arranged beforehand to eat dinner there at the house and Maria cooked a most delicious meal for all of us. The next morning, she made a filling breakfast to get us going for our next day of walking. It was wonderful! Staying at Casa das Pias was one of the highlights of our experience and highly recommend.
While this may be a bit out of the way for those without a car (as we were - and so they picked us up and returned us to Porrino!), it is a truly lovely facility. Too bad it was no longer warm enough to enjoy the beautiful pool. But honestly, the best part was the food - really delicious, elegantly simple, and truly gracious hosts. We talked about our dinner for days after! I realize Maria and Marcelo might not want to open a stand-alone restaurant, but I have no doubt it would be wildly successful. So stay here, enjoy a comfortable room in a beautiful setting, and be prepared for a wonderful meal!
GBI must write a review for this place. A super friendly atmosphere accompanied by a lovely room and lots of lovely places to visit on the doorstep. Great food in Mondariz and this places gives you vouchers for free entry into the incredible local spa. Marcello and his wife made very hearty food and served the best honey in Spain as was pointed out in a newspaper clipping they showed us. I would recommend this place for both couples and families.
