"Dirty and old."

The only reason I gave it two stars instead of one is that the employees were friendly and professional. The hotel itself was dirty, dark, and dingy. The mattress was heavily stained, and there was no mattress pad just a thin fitted sheet that did not stay in place, the carpet so I had to leave my shoes on, it was sticky and grungy feeling under foot. The bathroom sink sprayed water everywhere. Overall, the entire facility needs a complete refurbishment and they definitely need to clean better.

"Moldy Moldy Moldy - stay away"

This is the moldiest hotel I have ever stayed in. The bathtub has mold growing every where - the caulk was black. The first room we were given was so dirty I refused to stay in it. It was very obvious the toilet had not been cleaned so I'm sure the shower hadn't either. I would never ever stay here again. We are going to Chicago and were planning on staying at another Hampton Inn there, not anymore.

"Clean, quiet, uneventful stay "

The Hampton Inn is convenient to the highway, just outside of Charleston. It is clean, quiet, and perfectly adequate for an overnight stay. We had no problems. Staff were efficient and helpful. Breakfast is the standard eggs, waffle maker, etc.

"bad choice"

We stayed at 3 Hampton/Hiltons in a week during our travels. The first 2 were nice. This one was terrible. It needs an update. The vanity in the bathroom had worn wood shelves. There was a round spot on the carpet by the bed that was sticky so I had to keep my sandals on The air conditioner was very noisy. No blow dryer in the room. A very negative experience.

The convenience ti where I needed yo be

1-Needs updating, thus giving it a dirty appearance. 2-Absolutely no housekeeping was provided despite signage in the bathroom stating services including bed making towel change, trash change and replacing amenities were provided every other day. All the did was replace trash bag and never touched the bed or removed dirty towels. I had to ask for fresh towels at the front desk.

"A really, really bad Hampton. Threatened my family’s safety and health."

I’ve never before stayed in a Hampton Inn that threatened both my safety and my health. Here are some highlights from when I stayed in this one (6/14/25). Pictures are included: 1. Do you like having a door to your room that closes? The door to my room was misaligned and couldn’t close on its own without great force (!!). Multiple times our door was open to the public because members of my family (my children) weren’t consciously careful to ensure the door was forced close every time. 2. The bath and shower fixtures weren’t attached to the wall. They wobbled with any touch. I couldn’t let my young son use the shower as I was concerned he might dislodge them further. 3. The top blanket on our bed was visibly stained, and the furniture in our room was visibly faded and worn from use (not just “outdated”, but so worn it permanently looks dirty) 4. The hallways were swelteringly hot and humid. Bubbling wallpaper and black buildup on vents had me concerned about the presence of mold in the environment. 5. The mini fridge in our room couldn’t get cold enough to refrigerate, and I had to throw out perishable food. 6. A ceiling tile was left uninstalled in the front entryway (which isn’t an issue to me personally, but if you’re willing to leave the ceiling exposed in the first room a guest walks in to entering the hotel, what does that say about how you approach everything else?) 7. Luggage carts don’t actually roll into the elevator without having to lift them in. I had items falling off my cart due to the misalignment. 8. When I asked the front desk agent if they knew where I could find a restaurant that might have gluten free options, she interrupted me to say, “Honestly, honey, I have no idea.” 9. A sign asking for tips (framing it as “you’re not SPENDING money, you’re INVESTING in good karma”) was in the breakfast area. The tip request I don’t mind, but the wording on the sign is manipulative: aren’t tips supposed to be in exchange for service (not “karma”?) The one time I needed breakfast staff to help, she was in the back on her cellphone. I always give benefit of the doubt, as sometimes things happen. But the issues here were so overwhelming, I wonder what else is going on underneath the surface at this location. I felt taken advantage of that this hotel advertises itself as a Hampton Inn. I’ve stayed in budget motels that didn’t have these kinds of problems. It was truly a fully disappointing experience.

"Place lacks in good housekeeping services"

Housekeeping services are supposed to be provided every other day - we checked in Thursday today is Saturday and all they did was change the trash bags. Did not remove used towels or make the bed. We have made the bed since we arrived. Property is dated and needs an upgrade, thus making it look shabby and dirty. The lack of housekeeping services is unacceptable to me and way below what I expect from a Hampton property. The staff is very nice however and apologized when I brought this to their attention advising they are short staffed. This lack of housekeeping services started when COVID happened and it has now become the norm. Not happy.
