Surf & Sand Hotel - Free Hot Breakfast & Rentals

The front desk staff & breakfast staff are fantastic! The pool area is very nice. The location is perfect for walking to the boardwalk and the Pier/beach.

The smell of weed. The drains in our sink & tub were clogged. The smell of weed. Blinds in our room didn't work properly. The smell of weed. The dresser drawers in our room were wedged shut, unable to use. The smell of weed. I've learned from previous stays to bring my own memory foam mattress bc the beds are uncomfortable. The smell of weed. The floors were filthy, had to mop them myself by hand. The smell of weed (strong) everywhere and we had to switch rooms bc the people in the next room were smoking so much weed that our room was unbearable. The mold is pretty bad there, too, it's everywhere...look under the bottles on the wall in the shower, under the lip of the sink, and all the toilet paper smells strongly of mold. I love this hotel, but I fear that it is being let go and a little run down. Others staying there said the same. Oh, and did I say "the smell of weed"?

I did get excited about the bacon! Biscuits and gravy, my favorite.

My wife didn't get her waffles. A long line and kids playing with the waffle irons.

The price, it was clean, the beds were comfortable, the free hot breakfast, free rentals, short walk to everything including the beach, so many restaurants, ice cream shops, açaí bowls, etc. The option to use multiple pools of different hotels. Our pool area was cool. We loved our stay.

The elevators were extremely hot with no air flow. We took the stairs most of the time. And there was no bar at the pool.

-room floor full of sand - no proper cleaning, dirty marks on bedsheets they don’t seem clean/fresh, bathroom door stucks on floor while open/close and drag’s the bath mat every time, full of moisture on floor. Breakfast -Water in juice dispenser , smelly corridors, for the price paid this is not expected.
