Pool facilities, proximity to beach and lobby area

The hotel restaurant has a policy of reserving tables on behalf of guests. The good tables with a poolside view are always reserved for the white guests while the South Asian and Asian guests were given less premium tables even when the restaurant was empty. The table is “reserved” for the entire night not for a particular slot. Not sure if racially motivated or not but regardless it is a stupid system to not allow guests to sit at a table when the restaurant is empty and the “reservation” was not even requested by the guest for whom the table was being reserved but rather by the staff

The resort is an absolutely beautiful tranquil environment with thoughtful touches throughout. Yoga is complimentary at sunrise and sunset as well as Ayurvedic tea and occasional pre-dinner activities. The staff are a delight, caring, helpful and courteous. The restaurant overlooks the gorgeous pool area and grounds and every meal I had was delicious served by attentive staff. The Executive Chef Saman made an effort to introduce himself and ensured I was happy with the food, often chatting about common interests which I appreciated being a solo female traveler. He came and wished me farewell as he was taking a few days break to spend with his family. I had originally booked 5 nights as I enjoyed the tranquil environment so much I booked another night. On the last morning at breakfast unfortunately the peace was disrupted as the replacement chef sat a few tables behind the guests, perhaps having a staff meeting. His loud talk was constant and didn’t stop and to make matters worse his mobile phone rang, surely it should be mandatory for all staff to leave their phones in the staff area or at the very least have them on silent. I couldn’t believe it when he actually took the call and continued his loud talking. It became so annoying I left the breakfast area and returned to my room. Such a shame, all the guests were thoughtful enough not to take calls or have phones ringing for the comfort of other guests. I now wish I had have left after my initial 5 night booking.

Loved everything - perfect!

My experience at Ayurvie Weligama was truly exceptional. From the moment I arrived, the service was outstanding, and the staff were incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive. They made me feel at ease right away. The doctor was especially lovely. She took the time to thoroughly understand my needs, tailoring my treatment to target specific areas for improvement. It felt deeply personalized and authentic. I was fortunate to have Sriyani as my therapist throughout my stay. She was not only incredibly kind and sweet but also radiated a positive energy that truly enhanced the entire experience. Having the same therapist for my entire treatment journey added an extra layer of comfort and trust. Sriyani worked closely with the doctor, ensuring that my treatments were continually adjusted to suit my preferences and needs. The yoga sessions were another highlight. They were not only excellent but also profoundly authentic. I looked forward to each morning’s class, where the teacher dedicated time and care to explain every movement of each asana. I appreciated the attention to detail, as it helped me learn how to perform the asanas correctly to maximize their health benefits. I left Ayurvie Weligama with a warm feeling in my heart, and I will definitely be returning. It was a memorable and rejuvenating experience.

My only piece of feedback would be that the property could benefit from a refurbishment. Although the location is stunning, with breathtaking views and a prime setting, I felt the rooms didn’t quite match the high standard of service. That said, the exceptional service and overall experience far outweighed this small aspect.

High level of customer service, very polite and humble people, the place is clean and quiet almost like a retreat center.

Mosquitos could be disturbing but the customer service managed to bring us a small machine as a solution and it work.

It the perfect location. Don’t stay anywhere else on the beach in Weligama unless it’s in this little cove. Perfectly placed away from the crowds and right in front of a little beach. Make sure to get a spa treatment, it’s amazing.

The place is looking a little tired. Old styling, pool deck coming apart etc.

Absolutely amazing place and hotel, highly qualified personal, Ayurveda treatment and Sri Lanka food.

Just 1 thing, but it is about Sri Lanka, not just about this hotel. Population there is very slowly, and they have enough time for everything. So, it can be neverending story to get some food, when you order.
