The Grand Yala Hotel

Nice and big swimming-pool, friendly and welcoming staff, big room/bathroom, delicious hearty breakfast. We only stopped in Tissa because we were with our tuktuk (no safari) but the area with the lakes is very nice. As the room is very big, some additional furniture like a chair would be a good idea!

The pool was great.

Wifi was slow.

Wonderful property and hosts, pool was well maintained, rooms were big and spacious. Breakfast was good, they specially considered our request for a vegetarian breakfast. Also helped us with safari booking at a reasonable price.

Our stay at Grand Yala Hotel was truly exceptional. The property is luxurious, beautifully maintained, and offers a very premium experience. The rooms were extremely spacious, featuring comfortable double beds and fully functional air conditioning. We also spent a wonderful time with our family at the swimming pool, which was very clean and well maintained. The breakfast was outstanding, with a delicious spread of Sri Lankan cuisine that exceeded our expectations. The staff were incredibly supportive, friendly, and always ready to help. As we were visiting from India during the Holi festival, we requested if we could play a little color, and the team kindly agreed—it was a thoughtful gesture that made our stay even more special. Thank you, Grand Yala Hotel, for such a memorable experience. Highly recommended!

Loved the calm of the place .. the room was fab & the staff could not do enough for you .. we only stopped 1 night to do safari but could easily have stopped longer .. tranquil setting & the staff were fabulous.. they packed us breakfast for safari & brought us coffee at 0430 !! . 10/10 for everything .. highly recommend .. thank you to you all at Grand Yala .. you were great x

Great place to stay and kids all loved the pool. Went on a Yala safari tour on our stay & they had our breakfast packed and ready for us. Great staff and delicious food.
