Very nice room was very small but served a purpose overall nice

Very comfortable bed, beautiful decor, lovely and quiet. I’ll visit again.

Nice welcome comfortable room. Good range of refreshments however no herbal/hot choc/ for bedtime. Lovely little gift of Christmas biscuits. Its a old building with the things that come with older buildings like a delay in hot water getting to taps. If too impatient to wait then book elsewhere. Yes the bathroom suit is tired but its clean and serviceable. We will return.

The room was dated and cold, the heating didn't come on until about 07.00

Welcoming a characterful. On arrival, reception closed and Sign on outside door advising to phone if no one at reception. Not complaining as we appreciate quiet season. Perhaps this info with the number to call could be included with info on confirmation. Likewise advisory where to park rather than need to move car. Room very comfortable. Amazing variety of drinks/biscuits. Although (Again not complaining) if like us you enjoy Ovaltine/chocolate at night this isnt included. This is a old building and as such has her imperfections and quirks and character that come with such. If you want flat floors and instant hot water and modern decor then go to a modern hotel. If not enjoy. I am 6 weeks post total knee replacement so was glad I advised them so didn't get room at top. If you have mobility issues its worth advising them. My only niggle is while my email was acknowledged on arrival, and we had first floor room (Room 5) it would have been reassuring to get confirmation recived prior to arrival

The best accommodation we have ever had. Thank you so much will return when we are in the area and need a hotel. Would definitely recommend anyone to book a stay there.

Top floor but worked out good as very quite. General Hotel is old and worn but it was located in a good area.

Beds weren't very comfortable

It feels like a place that has been set up for some other purpose. Noisy footfall all evening. Grim concierge. A no pets policy (they call dogs 'pets') which is not made clear until arrival. Much of the premises is a Thai Restaurant - many disgruntled customers coming out of that flooded the entrance hall.
