Hotel Burg Schwarzenstein

Quiet, laid back, clean, comfortable, very well managed, nice food and wonderful location

Beautiful location and a hotel with luxurious rooms. But the service, especially at the front desk but also at breakfast, is a million miles from the standard demanded by the price. When we visited, a wedding meant they couldn't serve us dinner. The tone of amazement that we should even ask, or that they might be able to advise on a good nearby restaurant instead, or help with suggestions for some wine tasting the next day in this famous wine growing region, was really really poor. The rudeness about being served at the bar a minute or two after six was beyond the pale. Don't worry - we had a lovely time, finding an excellent local restaurant and lots of wine tasting. The hotel just wasn't part of the fun. It needs better management.

Beautiful, clean property with well appointed rooms. It was a joy discovering the grounds and vineyards! I have to give plenty of praise to the staff! They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. Even going as far as ensuring we had a balcony, then changing the room so I could have a different view from the balcony. Kevin was amazing! Also his colleague was very helpful and showed us the gym, even going through workouts for us (I didn’t catch his name). Overall, we will stay here again thanks to the amazing staff and beautiful property!
