This place was terrible. After checking in I checked out about an hour later after finding the Hotel Fitzgerald. It was dirty and ran like a prison. The area was scary and the clients were not much better. This place should be removed from Expedia.

Confortable atmosphere

Absolutely nothing. There were countless reasons we’d like to have avoided this place. The neighbourhood was incredibly sketchy, there was vomit and broken glass every few metres on each floor, there was only 1 pillow, no towels, blood splatter on the wall next to the bed, cigarette burns on the stained sheets, other peoples socks on the floor, graffiti in the room, people playing loud music all night, a scary elevator experience, there was no obvious entry point (and when we found it it was just a locked gate with no option to call to reception, we just had to wait for someone to exit) and these are just to name a few. We booked this place for 2 nights, and after 1 night we got straight up and left, trying to get out and into our Uber as fast as humanly possible. We generally feared for our safety here and would hope no one makes the same mistake we did. This place seemed like a crackhouse, and looked nothing like the photos and I hope my writing of this helps someone else avoid the mistake of booking a night here.

The entire experience

Extremely dangerous area. There are shared restrooms for an entire floor. Holes from punches and gunshots from previous renters in the doors/walls. Staff members make you sign blank line-item lists to check in. It's not safe to be here.

The staff upgraded me to a better room and showed that they cared by double checking with me if I thought it was satisfactory.

Nothing.

At this price for a san francisco hotel I'm not sure how other reviewers expectations were so high. My room was not terrible, the facilities are older. it was clean, no evidence of bed bugs. Location is convenient, walking distance to shopping and food. I am a female who travelled alone and checked in at 1am, I was not uncomfortable. Homeless people are to be expected in this area of the city.

The family room was unexpectedly great.

We were told that we could only stay one night because we have our 3 year old daughter with us. It the website advertises clearly that CHILDREN OF ALL AGES ARE WELCOME. We called before booking to make sure of this and we’re told yes only to be kicked out a day later. This place is so frustrating! Size of family room and potential of the space is amazing.. too bad it isn’t being utilized as so. Also the place is filthy.. would have love to have stayed longer and cleaned the space thoroughly so that we could have enjoyed the space because it really is a great space! We were given a run around about their kid policy as well and it’s still unclear.. now they say they only allow kids 10 and up.. also we had stayed the month beforehand for a month with our 3 year old with no problem.
