Gruene River Hotel & Retreat

We really enjoyed our stay, it was peaceful and everyone was so friendly!

Absolutely beautiful property located on the river and steps away from Gruene Hall. Our room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the complimentary late afternoon beer, wine, and snacks along with the morning breakfast which was outstanding. Great game room with large screen tv, shuffle board and pool table. Overall quiet property with so many amenities, something for everyone! Looking forward to our next visit!

We enjoyed spending anniversary here. Staff made it special through beautiful rooms, friendly persons (Jean!) and good service. Perfect location for walking Gruene and within 10 minutes new Braunfels. Ask for room with balcony and great view of the river.

The Gruene Hotel and Retreat was so lovely. I took my husband here for a 60th birthday get-a-way. We couldn’t ask for anything more. Everything was so perfect. We have talked so highly about this place to our friends since we have returned and we will be back soon.

Enjoyed our overnight stay even though it was very expensive. And even though we had really noisy neighbors!! Otherwise the whole area was nice, clean and quiet. Breakfast was really good, even though it was only served between 8:30 to 9:30. Thought we would set an alarm as we are late sleepers and didn’t want to miss eating since it’s included, but didn’t need to thanks to the neighbors loud talking and their music blaring, & something else! Had an outside entrance room with a somewhat nautical decor. Very clean. Enjoyed the treats that were available in nice lobby area. A glass of wine with Chex Mix! Assorted cookies and some candy also available and fruit infused water. We attended a concert at Gruene Hall and were able to walk the short distance from the hotel, which is a lot better than trying to find a parking space around Gruene Hall, that’s for sure. You would end up in the back forty, huge parking area, that would be further than walking from the hotel!
