Hotel am Goetheberg

Warm, charming, inviting. Best to remember it is a house that had been converted into a hotel so that bathroom is small and the floors squeak. But this did not affect our stay at all. Also given it is in a small village, we were so grateful the restaurant on the ground floor stayed open till late.

The hotel am Goetheberg is a really nice place. It is an old building that has all the nooks and crannies an old building would have but it is a fine place to stay. Read their website which explains why old buildings have their kinks but this was just fine.

I have only one big pain point. I checked in and paid for the room and breakfast with my credit card. I also had dinner in the restaurant which is the same room as the breakfast room. When it was time to pay for dinner, I was told they do not take credit cards. This was from the same person who checked me in earlier. Somehow, the restaurant runs on different books. I don't know and don't care. They take so much effort to "pre-inform" people of their unusual building to prepare the guest but not a word about no credit cards at dinner. Shame.

Das Hotel, der Service ... alles war bestens. Der einzige Schönheitsfleck ist die tagsüber stark befahrende Straße.

Sehr freundlicher Empfang. Tolle Aussicht. Tolle Empfehlung für eine Wanderstrecke.
