Well located. In side street woithin walking distance of Cathedral and main station.Room ok size. Quiet. Room clean . Individually designed quirky rooms. Good for short stay. Good price relative to Cologne's expensive accommodation. Good bathroom. .

"No no no and no"

4.0

Only pros of this hotel was location - takes 1min to get to shopping area, 10mins to cologne church. Lots of restaurants and bars around this hotel. Now cons... Water of shower booth drain really slow, bed sheet was kind of dirty and no fridge. There's construction going on right in front of this hotel and because of that my morning started unpleasantly. Plus! The basement of this hotel is a club. I couldn't sleep at all due to the constant electronic music beat and yelling from the drunk people out on the street. (FYI this hotel isn't sound proof at all) Never recommend this hotel unless you want to enjoy the night life.

"Clean & Comforable"

8.0

Great location, right on the pedestrian shopping area (Shildergasse). Definitely recommend this hotel for solo travellers and for those who enjoy walking around the city as this is very centrally located. Slightly noisy on a Saturday night but unless you a light sleeper i won't bother you too much. The only critisim I have is that there was only 1 pillow and it had no support at all felt like u had no pillow.

"Love this place and I´m normally very picky"

10.0

I´m obsessed about details in hotel room where I don´t have to use any time on figuring things out or miss anything and these rooms are great. First of all they have a propper work desk, not one of those tiny once but huge once where you can actually put a ton of stuff on. It has a great place for clothes and tons of space in bathroom to put beauty things. Bathroom has a real hair dryer and super quality toilet paper. (Yes, nothing says cheap hotel like think toilet paper but this hotel stands out!) Service from staff is great. They where always very helpful! Would definitely stay here again and rooms are more quite than other hotels I have stayed at in Cologne, it´s actually as quite as you get them which is important for me on business trip. Oh and it´s in middle of main shopping area. How could one forget to mention.

"Clean and comfortable "

6.0

We spent the night here. The good stuff... Room was very clean and tidy with a big bed! It was quite quiet The location was great, vey close to the cathedral and the Christmas market. Parking is 2 mins walk away and is 15euros for 24 hours. The strange stuff... No staff! You have to ring a number when you want to check in or out and someone comes to reception. No shower curtain. The not so good stuff... No option for breakfast and the bar was not open.

"A curtain-free zone"

8.0

This hotel doesn't do curtains, either in the room itself or in the bathroom. If full daylight flooding your room at the crack of dawn bothers you, stay elsewhere. And I may just be being a demanding Kurfürst but I expect bath tubs with shower attachments to have a shower curtain or screen. No such luck at this place. Further, music from the bar downstairs at weekends was clearly audible up on the 2nd floor. And there's no reception, just a counter with a piece of paper containing mobile/cell phone numbers to ring to be served. Apart from the above, the room (and the rest of the hotel) was in good decorative order, the wifi/WLAN worked well and the location was good for the central Altstadt.

"Worth every cent to spend your nignts in Cologne."

6.0

The place is very basic. They only have 11 rooms of different kinds. My single room was very small, with a flat TV, one chair and a small table - NO wardrobe, just a few hooks on the wall. It was warm. The bed was very hard - just as I like. The bathroom was warm and comfortable, with enough towels. Everything was clean. Window curtain is very thin, so morning light (and even street lamps) can be a real nuisance! Although the nearby street is generally quiet, I could near some noise till as late as 3 am on the week-end nights. The staff was very firendly and helpful. Location is very good, right on the border between shopping area and the Old town with its many bars and restaurants. Verdict: if you are planning to use your room for sleep only and want a bargain, take it. If you need more comfort, space and care (breakfast, 24h reception, etc.), find another.

"What a Gem"

10.0

My boyfriend and I work in the hotel industry and decided to try and find somewhere a little different to stay during our much needed holiday in Koln. We were slightly early to check in but luckily the room was ready and the lovely owner didn't mind at all. We stayed in several different rooms and each was a delight, the rooms all decked out in bright colours with great lightling and alot of general kitch. The bathrooms really made our stay, clean, well fitted and with HUGE baths, lovely. The cocktail bar was nicely busy at the weekend, good cocktails and a great atmosphere. A real treat, inexpensive, much better than your average hotel and very sweet helpful staff.

"Small and er... a bit stange"

4.0

I was going to attend the exhibition in Cologne and because the prices had skyrocketed for this period had to look for something cheap and I wanted a good location to go out in the evening. So this was the fist search result on lastminute and didn’t look too bad although I tried to find something conventional. But for the 70 EUR per night this was by far the cheapest (Although I only used the normal internet sites to search for hotels) so I decided to try this. The booking was easy and I didn’t have to pay a deposit or give credit card details (I wasn’t 100% sure of my trip). So I arrived at the hotel at about 5pm and they said the room would be ready at 6pm. The check out is at 5pm so its good if you have a later flight or just want to sleep late. The service is unconventional as they do not really have a reception and the bar is most of the time not staffed so you better not need anything in terms of customer services. The staff is a bit strange, but reasonable polite and can speak reasonable English. Paid for the 5 night on my arrival and asked for the recite. They said that they would give this the next day, but they didn’t for some reason. On my check out there was nobody in the building that I could find and I had to leave without a recite… The room was very small, although this was advertised as double I would not call it that (Maybe in the UK, but not in Germany). It had an Ikea bet and an OK mattress. Although the bed was double they had only a tiny duvet and I got really cold the first night. The next day I asked for a larger and thicker duvet (and I stressed the two words) when I came back I had exactly the same size duvet, but maybe slightly thicker. I really hate telling simple instructions twice so I wasn;t bothered as it was now warmer in the room. However they seem to have something with the heating and maybe try to save on electricity so already small radiator would not be on sometimes and it would get too cold for what you expect in a hotel and as the room is very small and was smelly when I arrived I could not open the window. The room also does not have a phone which was inconvenient and the floor was very dirty. Also if you are a sensitive to noise (which I am not) this would probably be a nightmare for you as the walls are very thin. You can easily hear a conversation two rooms away and they do play music two floors down and this can also be heard crisp and clear until 3 am on weekends. Wasn’t a problem for me as I can sleep under any noise level and come back drunk anyways. 2 stars as it is very cheap, check out at 5pm and the location is good. It is in the old town close to the river where nice restaurants are. However the fun part of the town is a fair 15 min walk away. To the fair it probably took me 15 mins to walk or 8 EUR on the taxi (about 10 mins or less). Oh and they have a 21” TV (no international satellite so you better speak German or be obsessed with the news – BBC World and CNN) Overall not a very good hotel (B&B would be more appropriate). I would pay more and stay in a more professional place. There are several small hotels in the Old town that look much nicer.
