Quality Inn Carolina Oceanfront

We had pets with us so we chose quality based on that and the miss leading photos of this hotel property

I don't know if there would be any way to make this hotel acceptable besides tearing it down. The room was musty, covered in mildew, in just neglect from years of wear and tear and grossly understaffed. There are stray cats and sketchy people that may live in the hotel. The view was great, the bed was acceptable and that's the only good part.

It was ocean front

The air conditioner sounded like it was going to blow up. A pair of random dirty socks in the room from last people. Front door didn’t shut properly. Bathroom door didn’t shut properly. Bathroom drain didn’t drain. Ice machine was broke. Towels were dirty. TV didn’t work properly.

Location was good, staff was friendly

The inside of the room and the bathroom had rust stains, and the extra lock on the main door was broken. The bed was also very loud, the springs creaked every time you adjusted

I read the reviews prior to booking my trip, I came very skeptical, I was surprised with a super clean standard room, friendly front desk, very clean facility. It’s an older building, and it’s on the beach, so of course it has its damages on the outside. But overall, we had a great stay!! Thank you.

Deadbolt on door did not work

We have stayed at this hotel before and had no problems. The pictures did not look anything like the rooms. This time however, the first room they gave us smelled musty and moldy. There was black mold all around the ceiling. The second room did not have mold that we could see but still smelled musty and moldy. The beds and pillows where uncomfortable. The neighbors woke us up at 1 in the morning. Idk what they were doing but it sounded like they were trying to get the connecting door open. The only good thing about our stay was the breakfast.

Front desk lady a little snappy. I made a request for a blanket she said sure no problem but I haven’t seen it yet.

This place is a dump, literally. There's a huge dumpster in the back of the property. There's cigarette butts, garbage, and old furniture all around outside. Absolutely disgusting. No one is ever at the front desk and I had to speak to the virtual assistant at the kiosk every time. That's inconvenient. When I checked in, they had trouble collecting my payment from Expedia, so a manager had to come over and check me in, which prolonged the check in process. It took 20 minutes for me to be checked into the hotel.

Most things broken phone was dead. Virtual hosts at front desk were not helpful.
